Abstract:
Abstract:
A print tone measuring method includes a reference paper image pickup step for reading an image of reference paper to obtain first image data, a designated control point setting step for setting designated control points, a first reference point setting step for setting a pair of first reference points for specifying image positions, a print reading step for reading an image of an actual print to obtain second image data, a second reference point setting step for setting a pair of second reference points corresponding to the first reference points, a calculating step for calculating positions of corresponding control points corresponding to the designated control points from the first reference points and the second reference points, an extracting step for extracting image data adjacent each of the designated control points and image data adjacent each of the corresponding control points, and a correcting step for correcting the position of each corresponding control point in the second image data by comparing the image data adjacent each designated control point and the image data adjacent each corresponding control point.
Abstract:
A photo composition system (107) applies digital watermarks such as glossmarks and correlation marks to a user's image to produce a marked version of the image. A compatibility measure (112) is computed and presented to the user as an aid in mark selection or the decision to even apply a mark to the image. Compatibility measures can be improved by automated image enhancement processes (117) that adjust the image to be more compatible with the mark.
Abstract:
The invention discloses an order system for printed manner, where printed matter can be defined in an article-based database in the order system and an order for the production of the printed matter can be given using an interface in the order system, and a method for calculating production of printed matter, where first of all an interface in such an order system is used to give an order for production and where, when the order has been given, parameters for the printed matter are taken as a basis for using a calculation module in a management information system controlling networked graphical production to calculate the production. To trigger the automated calculation when an order has been given using an article-based order system, it is proposed that production-specific parameters for the printed matter be able to be defined in the order system's database and that, when the order has been given, the order system provide the parameters for calculating production of the printed matter via an interface.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a data processor (4), a first calculating unit (7), a second calculating unit (7), an updating unit (7), and an instructing unit (7). The first calculating unit (7) calculates estimated developer consumption necessary to form an image. The second calculating unit (7) calculates developer consumption corresponding to a sum of density values of image pixels. The updating unit (7) calculates remaining developer. The instructing unit (7) issues an instruction to the data processor (4) to reduce developer to be consumed when the estimated developer consumption exceeds the remaining developer. The data processor (4) converts scanned image data into print image data in response to the instruction such that the image is to be formed with the remaining developer.
Abstract:
A method is provided of estimating an in-focus position of a target in an image scanning apparatus. A first part of the target is scanned at a nominal focus level so as to obtain corresponding image information. One or more further parts of the target are scanned at one or more respective further focus levels so as to obtain corresponding image information. A focus parameter is then calculated for each of the nominal and the one or more further focus levels using the respective image information. An in-focus position common to each of the first and further parts of the target is then estimated using the calculated focus parameters. Corresponding apparatus for performing the method is also provided.
