This method comprises: receiving one or more video streams of a real life event; selecting one of the one or more video streams; automatically generating an annotation for the selected one video stream based upon the content of the selected video stream; and outputting the annotation with the selected one of the one or more video streams.

This disclosure relates generally to communication networks, and more particularly to a system and method for dynamically optimizing a quality of a video being transmitted over a communication network. In one embodiment, the method comprises acquiring a plurality of video transmission parameters for the video being transmitted. The method further comprises deriving an optimum value for each of the plurality of video transmission parameters based on a predefined indicator of an acceptable quality of the video using meta-heuristic harmony search algorithm. The method further comprises dynamically optimizing the quality of the video based on the optimum value for each of the plurality of video transmission parameters.

Systems and methods are described herein for enabling a viewer to quickly toggle through related media assets without having to remove their attention from any given media assets. For example, if a user is watching a soccer game but wants to switch between two or more other soccer games the user is interested in, the user's remote control device may be automatically reprogrammed to allow the user to switch between soccer games at the touch of a numbered button on the remote control that corresponds to a different soccer game, rather than having to open up a program guide to learn what channel the different soccer game is playing on. This may help the user navigate to the different soccer game in time without costing the user any time in transition.

Systems and technologies for providing an on-demand personalized news program are disclosed. The system and technologies allow an end user to create a news program that best matches the end user's tastes and preferences. To achieve this, one aspect of the disclosure relates to systematic personalization. Systematic personalization involves determining an end user's interests based on an assessment of user behavior as it relates to accessible content. The personalization process may also provide content to users that have been editorially curated.

The events can be sporting events, entertainment events, and/or the like. For example, in the context of sporting events, a determination is made as to what types of sports, teams, leagues, players, plays, and/or the like are of interest to the user. A customized highlight show is then generated and presented, containing those specific portions of the sporting events that are likely to be of interest, arranged in a manner that is likely to be entertaining and interesting to the user and that presents a cohesive narrative.
