The method includes: (a) acid etching the mixture; (b) adding a base to bring the pH back up to a value of at least 1.5; (c) etching the solid from step (b) with a solution of soda or potash; (d) acid etching the solid from step (c) until a pH of less than 7 is obtained, resulting in a solid phase and a liquid phase including at least one rare earth salt, and separating the solid phase from the liquid phase.

The manufacturing method and dismantling method of a plasma display device are disclosed. The methods can bond a panel (21) to a holder (24) reliably, and can separate them easily upon scrapping a plasma display device. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: (a) bonding one of the adhesive layers (25b;25c), which are provided on both surfaces of an adhesive sheet (25) containing a porous insulating sheet (25a), to panel holder (24), and (b) bonding another adhesive layer (25b) to rear surface of panel (21), to bond rear surface of panel (21) to a holder (24). And the dismantling method comprises the step of separating panel (21) from holder (24) by cutting porous insulating sheet (25a) of the adhesive sheet (25).

A conductor layer is formed on a surface of the panel on the adhesive material side using a thin film technique, thick film technique or the like, an adhesive interface which exists between the panel and adhesive material or between the chassis and adhesive material is directly heated and the panel is thereby easily separated from the chassis without using any special and expensive member.

The invention relates to a method of disassembling a plasma display panel ("PDP") for reutilization. A first method adopts a component, which is thermally not contractible at a softening temperature of bonding material used for hermetically bonding a front and back panels, and positioned between the panels. The above component maintains or widens a space provided between the two panels when the PDP is heated, thereby facilitating disassembly of the PDP. The invention also provides a groove on a surface of either or both panels for communicating the bonding material to an exterior of the PDP. Softened bonding material can be drawn out or absorbed through the groove. Heating and cooling of the PDP may be made through a laminated graphite sheet placed on a surface of the PDP for uniformalizing thermal distribution. A second method separates a PDP into two panels by immersing the PDP in etching solution capable of selectively dissolving only lead glass, and melting the bonding material. A groove is provided between perimeter of an image display screen and bonded portion in order to prevent etching solution from permeating into the screen area. The groove is formed on the substrates in parallel with a longitudinal direction of electrodes. The separated panels are refurbished by restoring a deteriorated or defective portion into the original condition for use in manufacturing a new PDP.

The aim of the invention is to design and improve a source of light whereby prolonging the service life thereof. To this end, a deposit (3) having at least one chemical element is assigned to the filament (1) or the electrode. This deposit also contains the filament (1) or the electrode. In addition, the element can be supplied to the filament (1) or to the electrode. The invention also relates to a method for regenerating a light source having a heatable filament (1) or an electrode, whereby the filament (1) or the electrode is arranged inside a bulb (2) or inside a tube. According to the method, a deposit (3) is firstly assigned to the filament (1) or to the electrode, whereby the deposit (3) has at least one chemical element that also contains the filament (1) or the electrode. Lastly, the element is supplied to the filament (1) or to the electrode.
