The invention relates to an elastomeric copolymer derived from components comprising a) ethylene, b) an alpha-olefin, c) a non-conjugated polyene (C) having one C=C bond that is copolymerizable using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst, and d) optionally a non-conjugated polyene (D) which in the molecule contains two or more C=C bonds that are copolymerizable using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst. The copolymer is characterized by, inter alia, a specific branching coefficient BC. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of such copolymers.

Primary polymer particles having a size at least 90 % below 10 mu m and which contain water-soluble and water-insoluble polymer are made by reverse phase polymerisation of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer or monomer blend with cross-linking agent, and the emulsion is then spray-dried to form spray-dried granules which disintegrate upon addition to water, thereby forming an aqueous composition of the insoluble particles having activity similar to the starting emulsion. This aqueous composition of insoluble particles is particularly useful for flocculation, for instance, flocculation of sewage sludge followed by centrifugation or belt pressing, or for viscosification.

The invention provides a polymer which is a polymerization product obtained by polymerizing at least ethylene, 1-pentene and 1-hexene; and a process for producing a polymer by reacting at least ethylene, 1-pentene and 1-hexene in a reaction zone at a pressure between atmospheric and 60 kg/cm3 and at a temperature between 30 °C and 120 °C, in the presence of a catalyst system. a) eine titanhaltige Feststoffkomponente, enthaltend mindestens eine halogenhaltige Magnesiumverbindung, einen Elektronendonor und ein anorganisches Oxid als Träger, b) eine Aluminiumverbindung und c) eine weitere Elektronendonorverbindung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man das Verhältnis der Partialdrücke von Propylen und Ethylen auf von 20:1 bis 100:1 und das Verhältnis der Partialdrücke von dem oder den C 4 -C 10 -Alk-1-enen und Ethylen auf 2,5:1 bis 20:1 einstellt, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung solcher statistischer Copolymerisate sowie deren Verwendung als Folien, Fasern oder Formkörper.
