    摘要: A screen cleaning apparatus for use, for example, in connection with a discharge conduit of a sewage pumping station, may include a housing, a screen, a rake and a float. The housing may operate to contain a fluid (and/or define a container for the other components) and include a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The screen may be positioned in the housing and define one or more apertures. The rake may also be positioned in the housing and have one or more protrusions, with each protrusion extending into a respective aperture in the screen. The float may apply a force to the rake so that the rake moves relative to the screen and in dependence upon variations of a volume of fluid received in the housing. Accordingly, the rake may rise and fall with the fluid level to remove debris from the screen.

    摘要: An automatic liquid mixing system having a reservoir (12), containers (16) supported above the reservoir, means (42) for opening the containers into the reservoir and means for controlling the entry of liquid into the reservoir via inlet means (18) to achieve a desired mix of liquids. In order to improve the reliability and ease of operation of the system, there are means (56) responsive to the specific gravity of the liquid in the reservoir for controlling the entry of liquid via the inlet means (18), liquid level sensing means also for controlling the entry of liquid into the reservoir and for controlling operation of the opening means (42) and a plurality of interfitting containers (16) which are held together for positioning above the reservoir as a unit. The opening means comprise a pair of blades (60a, b) for opening a container wall by two spaced slits and a deflecting member (45) for displacing the material between the slits to allow egress of the contents and subsequent flushing of the container. The liquid level and specific gravity sensing arrangements involve magnetic coupling with sensitive components of the coupling being sealed from the liquids within a shaft which guides a liquid level float (30) and a specific gravity responsive float (56).

The rising level of liquid (22) in the chamber (16) also actuates, by means of a float (24), the valve portion (31) of a closure assembly (30) on the inverted top of the supply bottle (14). The valve portion (31) is fed by a capillary tube (50) and dispenses a predetermined, very small quantity of chemical each time it is actuated. The valve portion (31) is prevented from becoming clogged by chemical crystals during inactive periods by being mounted so that its surface will be flushed each cycle by the water (22) which rises in the feeder chamber (16).
