The present invention relates to a process for polymerisation in a slurry loop polymerisation reactor, which reactor comprises: a) a reaction zone in the form of a slurry loop, b) at least one feed inlet for monomers, diluent and optionally comonomers, c) at least one catalyst inlet for polymerisation catalyst, and d) at least one discharge conduit for removal of polymer, and which process comprises passing monomer, diluent and catalyst, and optionally comonomer, into the reaction zone through their respective inlets, wherein they react to form a slurry of polymer solids, and wherein the at least one catalyst inlet is in the form of an inlet pipe and no part of the inlet pipe protrudes beyond the wall of the reaction zone and into the reaction zone by more than 1/10 th of the diameter of the reaction zone at the point where the inlet pipe joins the reaction zone.

Provided are a device and a method capable of fly-discharging very small amounts of liquid droplets with high accuracy and capable of discharging different types of samples and reagents without contamination problems. In a discharge device for sucking a discharge liquid in an amount corresponding to plural discharges and continuously fly-discharging very small amounts of liquid droplets, the discharge device includes a nozzle unit, a storage unit for supplying a pressure transmission medium under regulated pressure to the nozzle unit side, a pressurization unit for supplying a pressurized gas under regulated pressure to the storage unit side, a pump mechanism, a branch unit for communicating the nozzle unit, the storage unit, and the pump mechanism with each other, a discharge valve for establishing or blocking communication between the branch unit and the nozzle unit, and a supply valve for establishing or blocking communication between the branch unit and the storage unit. In a state of the discharge valve being closed and the supply valve being opened, the pressurized gas under pressure regulated by the pressurization unit is supplied to the storage unit side and the pressure transmission medium in liquid phase under pressure regulated by the storage unit is supplied to the supply valve side. The discharge valve is then opened and closed at predetermined timings, thereby continuously fly-discharging the very small amounts of liquid droplets.
