摘要:
A cleaning apparatus for a contoured cooking surface is disclosed. Methods of cleaning a cooking system with the cleaning apparatus are also disclosed.
摘要:
The invention relates to a cleaning device, in particular, for grilling appliances or the like. According to the invention, the cleaning device is comprised of a pair of tongs having two limbs (2, 3) which are held in an opened position by means of internal stress, and which can be squeezed together into a working position by means of force applied by hand. Said limbs comprise, on the free ends thereof, a holding element (4, 5; 13, 14; 23, 24) which is oriented in a perpendicular and inward manner, whereby both holding elements (4, 5; 13, 14; 23, 24) can pass through one another. When the tongs are in an opened position, a negative overlap occurs between both holding elements (4, 5; 13, 14; 23, 24) which is larger than the diameter of the grate bar (10) to be cleaned. In addition, the free ends of both limbs (2, 3) have an outer gap which is smaller than the inner gap between two adjacent grate bars (10). When the tongs are in a working position, a positive overlap occurs between both holding elements (4, 5; 13, 14; 23, 24), whereby the cleaning device has, on the free ends (4', 5'; 13', 14'; 23', 24') thereof, a cleaning element (30) which can at least partially wrap around the grate bar (10) to be cleaned.

A wipe pad (10) for cleaning debris from cooking grate (24) while preparing the cooking grate for use in cooking foods, in which the wipe pad has a sheet of an absorbent fire retardant material with a cooking agent (18) received by the sheet. The sheet, being attached to a grill brush (26) by a plurality of bristles (32) extending therefrom and partially penetrating the sheet, clings to the grill brush (26) for wiping contact of the sheet against the grate (24) upon movement of the grill brush to clean cooking debris from the cooking grate while communicating a film of the cooking agent from the sheet to prepare the cooking grate for use. A method of preparing a cooking grate for cooking is disclosed.

A liquid applicator (10) for applying a desired liquid to a surface includes a closed vial (14) formed of a fractural material containing the desired liquid, a body having a pocket (12) with an open side and a shape adapted to receive the vial (14), a porous element (16) sealed to the body, and closing off the open side of the pocket (12) so that liquid flows through the element (16) when the vial (14) is fractured. The body has a flange protruding from the pocket (12) along the open side thereof and a wing-like gripping member (24, 26) projects from the flange. The gripping member (24, 26) is spaced from the pocket (12) and supported for pivoting movement relative to the pocket (12) by the flange. The body also has structure (36, 38) for fracturing the vial (14), the structure (36, 38) being interposed between the pocket (12) and gripping member (24, 26). Upon pivoting of the gripping member (24, 26), the structure (36, 38) flexes the pocket (12) inwardly to exert a fracturing force against the vial (14) when the member (24, 26) is pivoted towards the pocket (12).
