The invention relates to a dental post configured to be fitted within a dental cavity (67, 68) of a tooth (62) being restored. The post comprises a head portion (7, 47, 57, 77) and a foot portion (8, 78) consecutively arranged in an axial direction (6) of the post, said axial direction (6) being defined as a direction in which a central axis (5) of the head portion (7, 47, 57, 77) extends. The foot portion (8, 78) comprises a free lower end (3) such that the post can be inserted into the dental cavity (67, 68) in said axial direction (6) with said lower end (3) inwardly facing a closed inner end (64) of the dental cavity (67, 68). At least the foot portion (8, 78) is composed of a composite material comprising a resin matrix reinforced with fibers. The invention further relates to a method of fabrication of such a dental post, and to set comprising at least two such dental posts. To allow a better adaptability of the dental post to a variety of naturally occurring dental cavities, the invention proposes that the foot portion (8, 78) comprises a plurality of rods (14, 15, 24) being separated from one another along the axial direction (6) of the post such that each rod (14, 15, 24) is bendable in a transverse direction with respect to said axial direction (6).

The pin comprises an elongated body, substantially cylindrical or with truncated-cone shape, with a longitudinal axis and an external diameter dext provided with a through hole, preferably circular, extended inside the elongated body with internal diameter dint and with a drilling axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and preferably coaxial thereto, wherein the ratio between the internal diameter dint of the through hole and the external diameter dext of the elongated body, determined on a common measurement plane, is comprised between 0.3 and 0.9.

System and computer-implemented method of designing and/or manufacturing a post and core to match a bore of a tooth, said method comprising the steps of: a) obtaining at least one impression of a set of teeth comprising a bore; b) scanning the impression of the set of teeth comprising the bore; c) providing a three-dimensional scan representation of the impression comprising the bore; d) transforming the three-dimensional scan representation to a three-dimensional positive working model of the set of teeth and the bore; and e) designing a post and core model from the positive working model of the bore. The invention relates in particular to CAD/CAM design and/or manufacture of post and core.
