摘要： Specific zeolite particles retaining therein a metal ion having a bactericidal activity are packed and retained in a mixed fiber assembly composed of low-melting thermoplastic synthetic fibers and ordinary fibers. The zeolite particles are retained by welding of the low-temperature thermoplastic synthetic fibers but in a state of allowing the contact thereof with an external fluid. The particle-packed fiber article has an excellent and durable antibacterial activity and can be used in various fields.

摘要： A denture cleansing composition of the hypochlorite type is rendered substantially free of hypochlorite chlorine odour by incorporating into the composition a hypochlorite deactivator. The deactivator is released into the cleansing solution at a controlled rate to optimize cleansing efficacy at a reduced hypochloriteichlorine odour. The deactivators suitable for use in this invention include sodium perborate monohydrate and sodium nitrite. The preferred method of controlling deactivator release rate is by encapsulating the deactivator.

摘要： An assembly (16) for inhibiting microbial growth in collected body fluid includes a reservoir for collecting the fluid, and a tablet (10, 26) in the reservoir, which tablet dissolves in the collected fluid to produce hydrogen peroxide in an amount sufficient to inhibit microbial growth in the collected fluid. The tablet is partially coated with an insoluble coating (14) which leaves a portion of the tablet uncoated to provide a constant surface area exposed to the collected body fluid, which surface area is of a size to provide sufficient hydrogen peroxide for inhibition of microbial growth.

Preferably, the pulverulent composition comprises hydroxymethane sulphonic acid salt only, whereas the aqueous composition which preferably contains about 20-40 % by weight of an active main constituent, may also comprise optional additives, such as 0.001-1 % by weight of a surface tension depressor which preferably is a cetyl pyridinium chloride, and about 1-10 % by weight of iron or zinc salt for binding hydrogen sulphide. The preferred iron and zinc salts are iron sulphate and zinc chloride, respectively.
