    摘要： A filter apparatus and filter element therefore are provided. The filter apparatus includes a filter head including an inlet port, a main flow outlet port and a drain flow outlet port. The filter element includes a ring of filter media defining an internal cavity. The filter element defines a main flow passage and a drain flow passage through the internal cavity. Each flow passage has an inlet on a clean side of the filter media directly fluidly communicating with the internal cavity. The main flow passage is fluidly coupled to the main flow outlet port. The drain flow passage (or air bleed passage) is fluidly coupled to the drain flow outlet port and includes (i) a restriction 154 sized large enough to allow air flow and small enough to prevent substantial liquid flow and (ii) a check valve 912 limiting flow to a single direction. The filter media separates the inlet port from the main flow and drain flow outlet ports.

    摘要： A fuel filter assembly (10) employs a base (20) which mounts a disposable filter cartridge (50). A pair of axial conduits (24,26) in the base (20) provide fluid communication between the base (20) and the cartridge (50). An axial sealing member (60) mounted in the cartridge (50) receives the axial conduits (24,26). An axial conduit (80) and preferably at least one baffle (88) positioned on the axial conduit outer surface within the cartridge (50) provide a flow path through the cartridge (50). An orifice (92) located in the cartridge axial conduit (80) provides a bleed vent which controls the size and flow rate of air bubbles in filtered fuel exiting the fuel filter. A flange-shaped end of the cartridge axial conduit (80) engages a ridge on the outside surface of the sealing member (60) to prevent the fuel flow from bypassing the baffle (88).

    摘要： A filter element for liquids has an outer casing (10) within which is located a central tube (13). A filter medium (14) is located between the casing and the tube. Liquid enters the medium through apertures in an upper end plate (11) and the filtered liquid leaves the medium by way of apertures in a lower end plate (12). Mounted in the lower portion of the central tube (13) is a further tube (17) through which the filtered liquid can flow into the upper portion of the central tube. The upper end of the further tube (17) is joined by a wall (18) to the central tube and air which passes through the filter medium collects in a dead space (20) defined between the tubes. An air bleed orifice (19) formed in the wall (18) allows the air to pass at a controlled rate into the filtered fuel flowing in the central tube.
