Abstract:
A water treatment system comprises a filter and a filter head. The filter comprises a cartridge and a cap attached to the cartridge. The cartridge comprises first and second compartments respectively comprising first and second first water-treating mediums; the cap comprises a selector; the filter comprises at least one bypass extending from the selector and throughout the first compartment and into the second compartment, each bypass having an inlet and an outlet. The selector allows selecting: in a first state all water entering the filter passing through the first compartment; in a second state all water entering the filter bypassing the first compartment and passing through the second compartment; in at least one intermediate state a first part of water entering the filter passing through the first compartment and a second part of water entering the filter bypassing the first compartment and passing through the second compartment, and the filter head reversibly attachable to the cap.
Abstract:
Liquid filter arrangements are described and shown. The arrangements generally include a filter head, a seal adaptor, and a filter member comprising a shell enclosing a cartridge. Unique features for interface between the filter cartridge and the filter head are provided. Also provided are unique filter head features and cartridge features.
Abstract:
An apparatus having a threaded bottom assembly for interfacing to connect the bottom assembly to a second structure with threads, having a deformable element that, when sufficient force is applied via the process of threading the bottom assembly to the second structure, and at an appropriate value of axial compression or pressure, passes from a stable state, through a rapid shape transformation to a second state via a regime of reduced resistance to deformation, creating a tactile or audible indication that the apparatus has been properly installed. The deformable element may be joined to the apparatus using a circumferential ring by friction fit or spring fit, and may adhere magnetically to the second structure to facilitation installation.
Abstract:
A filter assembly that includes a filter body defining a mouth, a filter element disposed in the filter body, and a seal disposed on the mouth. The seal has a seal body defining a center axis. The seal body has an axial surface perpendicular to the center axis and an outer annular surface revolved about the center axis. A portion of the outer annular surface defines at least one of an arcuate and a substantially frustoconical shape.

Abstract:
Abstract:
A water filtration system that includes a filter manifold having a rotatable cover is provided. A filter cartridge is provided that includes a sump having a filter head integrally secured to a first end and cap releasably secured to a second end. A locking mechanism extending from the cover locks into the filter manifold to position the cartridge in an “in-use” state. The filter cartridge further includes two offset cylindrical inlet and outlet members protruding from the filter head that are designed to engage corresponding inlet and outlets of the filter manifold through a horizontal engagement mechanism. A check valve is positioned within the filter manifold adjacent the inlet of the filter cartridge to control fluid flow through the water filtration system. The filter cartridge head includes fins upwardly extending therefrom that are configured to engage corresponding slots formed in a plurality of corrugated channels of the filter manifold.
