Abstract:
A multi -layered yarn, comprising: a central core fiber; an inner fiber wrapped about the central core fiber in an inner helical configuration; and an outer fiber wrapped about the central core fiber and over the inner fiber in an outer helical configuration that is oppositely oriented to the inner helical configuration, to form a protruding cross-hatch pattern having multiple indentations on the surface of the multi-layered yarn, thereby increasing the surface area of the multi-layered yarn.
Abstract:
A system for removing sediment from water is disclosed. The exemplary embodiments described herein disclose a system comprising a filter chamber, having a deck positioned inside to divide it into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The deck may have a plurality of holes to hold filtration elements and also may have a ridge or a skirt or both. An inlet line may be tangentially connected to the filter chamber and introduce influent liquid into the filter chamber below the deck and outside of the skirt.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for filtering a medium. The apparatus has a filter housing and a supporting means located within the filter housing. A plurality of fiber bundles are attached to the supporting means and extend within the fiber housing in direction between an inlet and an outlet. A fexible water-proof membrane is provided within the filter housing to constitute a pressure chamber. When pressurized during the filtration process, the membrane press the plurality of fiber bundles to form a frustrum-like filter chamber. The medium becomes filtered as it passes through the frustum-like filter chamber.
Abstract:
Provided by the present invention is a faucet water purifier for filtering a raw water, which comprises a control valve and a filtering device, wherein the filtering device defines a first communicating opening and a second communicating opening, the control valve comprises a valve body and a valve core, wherein the valve body defines a valve cavity, a first opening, a second opening, a third opening, a raw water inlet and a draining opening, wherein the valve core is disposed inside the valve cavity, wherein the first opening is communicated with the first communicating opening of the filtering device, the second opening is communicated with the second communicating opening of the filtering device, the third opening is communicated with a water outlet of the filtering device, and the raw water inlet of the valve body is adapted to be communicated with a raw water source.
Abstract:
A thread-based filter comprising: a thread-based medium comprising multiple threads; and a tube, wherein the tube at least partially houses the thread-based medium with the threads oriented lengthwise along the length of the tube, and wherein the thread-based medium is configured to trap impurities present in a fluid flowing substantially lengthwise along the threads during a filtration mode, and wherein the thread-based medium is configured to release impurities into a fluid flowing substantially lengthwise along the threads during a washing mode.
