Die Vorrichtung weist ferner eine Verschiebevorrichtung auf, mit welcher der Messerbalken orthogonal relativ zur Fördervorrichtung in einer ersten Raumrichtung, insbesondere der vertikalen Raumrichtung, linear verschiebbar ist, um den auf der Fördervorrichtung liegenden Teig an definierten Stellen zu schneiden, wobei die Verschiebevorrichtung zwei seitlich und einander gegenüber stehende Säulen umfasst, welche sich in der ersten Raumrichtung relativ zur Fördervorrichtung erstrecken und von dieser abstehen, und an welchen der Messerbalken linear in der ersten Raumrichtung verschiebbar gelagert ist. Der Messerbalken ist zusätzlich in einer zweiten Raumrichtung, die orthogonal zur ersten Raumrichtung steht, linear bewegbar.
