摘要: According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a color sensor is provided for sensing whether a ground roller in a corona treatment system needs to be serviced. The color sensor is capable of detecting imperfections which have changed the reflectance level of the ground roller from a predefined level. According to another aspect of the present disclosure, if a determination is made that the ground roller needs to be serviced, then an alarm is activated and/or the operation of the corona treatment system is ceased.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a hoisting rope (R,R',R",R"'), comprising the steps of providing a plurality of elongated composite members (1,1',1",1"'), which composite members (1,1',1",1"') are made of composite material comprising reinforcing fibers (f) in polymer matrix (m); arranging the composite members (1,1',1",1"') to form an elongated row (r,r',r",r"') of parallel composite members 1,1',1",1"', which row (r,r',r",r"') has a longitudinal direction (L), a thickness direction (T) and a width direction (W), and in which row (r,r',r",r"') the composite members (1,1',1",1"') are positioned side by side such that they are parallel to each other, and spaced apart from each other in width direction (W) of the row (r,r',r",r"'); directing plasma treatment on the outer surface of the composite members (1,1',1",1"'); embedding the composite members (1,1',1",1"') in fluid polymer material (2); and solidifying the polymer material wherein the composite members (1,1',1",1"') are embedded. A hoisting rope (R,R',R",R"') obtained with the method and an elevator comprising the hoisting rope (R,R',R",R"') are disclosed, too. The plasma treatment allows for an increased transmission ability of a hoisting rope compared to no plasma treatment.

摘要: This disclosure provides economical and effective methods and apparatus for repairing scratches and scuffs on refillable bottle surfaces that minimally contaminates the bottle during the refurbishing process. In one aspect, the method comprises the steps of: a) adding at least one fluid into the polymeric packaging material such as a bottle to form at least a partially filled packaging material; and b) applying at least one heat source to an exterior surface of the at least partially filled packaging material to form a repaired polymeric packaging material. Apparatus and recycling systems that incorporate this method are also disclosed.

摘要: This invention concerns a process for producing a food contact approvable, printable film comprising: providing a web of film having a width of at least about 1 cm and/or a length of at least 1 m and/or a weight of at least about 1 g and having a food- contactable surface; at a first location subjecting at least a first surface of the film web to a modified atmosphere dielectric barrier discharge (MADBD) treatment; winding the film web onto a reel; transporting the wound film web to a second location; unwinding the film web from the reel; and subjecting the first surface of the film to corona treatment. The invention also concerns printed films obtainable by the process of the invention, and articles of packaging and/or labelling made from such films.

摘要: The invention relates to a device for corona treating a web-like material. The device comprises a roll (1) and an electrode array (2), which is located opposite said roll and which has at least one longish electrode (4) that extends parallel to other electrodes and to the roll axis (3). Between the roll (1) and each electrode (4), an electric corona discharge can be generated for treating the web-like material guided through at that location, and the electrodes (4) can pivot away from the roll (1) against the action of a spring (7). Prior art devices of this type have a drawback in that the ceramic tubes or rods are damaged in the occurrence of a bulging. The aim of the invention is to improve the design of a corona treatment device as to prevent the ceramic tubes or rods from becoming damaged. To this end, each individual electrode (4) of the electrode array (2) is, independent of the other electrodes (4), mounted in an articulated manner around an axis parallel to the roll axis (3) and in a manner that permits it to be radially displaced with regard to the roll axis (3) against the action of a spring (7).
