Said rotary printing press is characterised in that the at least one colour deck (F) comprises a control unit (50) that is configured to capture and process data relating to the cylinder, said data describing the topography of the surface of said specific cylinder and/or a spatial relationship between a printing pattern and a reference mark (36) embodied on the cylinder. The control unit (50) is configured such that the adjusting system can be controlled according to said adjusting data in order to optimally adjust the position of the cylinder for printing, producing little or no waste at all.

Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt in der Schaffung eines Verfahrens zur automatischen Anfertigung von Farbauszügen, wobei eine vorgewählte Anzahl von Bögen in einer gewünschten Farbzusammensetzung gedruckt wird. Die Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß eine Steuervorrichtung vorgesehen ist, in der mindestens ein Steuerprogramm abspeicherbar ist. Dieses Steuerprogramm selbst ist aus einzelnen Programmschritten aufgebaut und steuert die Druckan- und Druckabstellung in den einzelnen Druckwerken der Druckmaschine entsprechend den abgespeicherten Programmschritten. Alternativ zu diesen vorgegebenen, abrufbaren Steuerprogrammen ist vorgesehen, daß vom Drucker gewünschte Farbkombinationen in beliebiger Auflagenhöhe vorgewählt werden können.
