摘要: Ink jet printing apparatus for forming a plurality of ink images on a receiver and for cutting the receiver to form separate prints of such ink images in response to a digital image file including at least one digital image includes at least one ink jet print head adapted to deliver ink to the receiver. The receiver is moved along a first receiver path past the ink jet print head. Control circuitry is responsive to one or more digital image files for actuating the ink jet print head to form a plurality of ink images on the receiver. A first actuatable receiver cutter responds to the control circuitry. The receiver is moved along a second path that is perpendicular to the first receiver path. A second actuatable cutter responsive to the control circuitry is disposed at a predetermined position relative to the second receiver path for sequentially cutting the receiver to form separate prints each having at least one ink image.

摘要: A recording medium cutter of which the cutting blade can be moved between two positions, a cutting position and a noncutting position, in a short time and which can accurately cut a recording medium. A main body (40) rotatably holding a rotary blade (32) and a driven blade (34) is positioned between the side plates (36 and 38) of the cutter (30). A main shaft (39) which is the rotating center of the blade (32) is rotatably provided between the side plates (36 and 38) and the main shaft (39) is also the rotary shaft of the main body (40). A driving motor (44) is fixed to the fitting plate (42) of the side plate (36). When the main shaft (39) is rotated by the motor (44), the blade (32) rotates, and hence the driven blade (34) pressed toward the side face of the blade (32) rotates around the shaft (39). As a result, the main body (40) also rotates around the shaft (39). When the main body (40) is moved to the cutting position from a noncutting position, the rotation of the main body (40) is stopped the moment that the stopper (41) of the main body (40) comes into contact with a stopping plate (50), while the blade (32) continuously rotates. When the main body (40) is moved to a noncutting position from the cutting position, the rotation of the main body (40) is stopped the moment that the lever (58) which is engaged with the main body (40) at the rotating time comes into contact with the hole end section (38a) of the side plate (38). When the lever (58) comes into contact with the hole end section (38a), the driving motor (44) is turned off, because the sensor bar (60) of the lever (58) turns off a sensor (62).

摘要: A computer-implemented method for operating a printer comprising providing a controller, an edge detector, and one or more inline slitters attached to a slitter bracket associated with the printer; using the edge detector to determine a lateral position of a print medium along a transport path of the printer; using the controller to move the one or more inline slitter attached to the slitter bracket to an appropriate position for a desired cut; and using the edge detector to make calibration adjustments in real-time.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for cutting substrates with printed images in an automatic cutting device. The longitudinal cutting marks (LM) are provided with a discontinuity (N) arranged upstream of each transverse cutting mark (TM) with respect to a feeding direction (F) of a substrate (S) and spaced therefrom by a predefined known measure (d). The automatic cutting device has a first optical unit configured to detect the transverse cutting marks (TM) and a second optical unit configured to detect the discontinuities (N) in the longitudinal cutting mark (LM). Since the velocity of the substrate is known, the control system activates the first optical unit when the transverse cutting mark (TM) actually passed underneath it.

摘要: A tape 60 includes a strip-shaped sheet 7, a plurality pairs of first media 8 and second media 9, and separating lines 43, 44. The first medium 8 and the second medium 9 are peelably stuck to the sheet 7 so as to be located adjacent to and spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction 16 of the sheet 7. The first separating line 44 is located between a pair of the first medium 8 and the second medium 9 in the longitudinal direction 16 and extends between one end 71 and the other end 73 of the sheet 7. The second separating line 43 is provided on a portion 95 of the sheet 7 which is located between a center M2 of the second medium 9 and one end 93 of the second medium 9 in a widthwise direction 17 and which extends from one end 91 to the other end 92 of the second medium 9 in the longitudinal direction 16. Each of the separating lines 43, 44 has a portion of the sheet 7 which is cut in its thickness direction or through which holes or the like is formed in the thickness direction.

摘要: There is disclosed a tag making and stacking system, tag stackers and stack trays. To increase tag making capacity, a wide tag web is slit into completely severed narrow tag webs which are cut apart to form tags which are immediately separated and formed into spaced apart stacks. The new system includes a printer and a stacking system to receive and stack tags. The stacking system includes a tag stacker and a removable tag-receiving tray to facilitate transferring a stack of tags from the tag stacker to the place where the tags are to be used. A method of handling tags involves the provision of at least first and second removable trays wherein a first tray with a stack of tags can be replaced by an empty second tray so that the stacking of additional tags can recommence without waiting for the first tray to be emptied.
