摘要: The invention relates to a method for binding sheaves of papers into covers (1) such as to form booklets, each booklet comprising a cover made up of two cover sheets, a spine therebetween, and a binding agent attached to the inside of the spine, as well as a sheaf of papers inserted in the cover, one side edge of the sheaf being connected to the inside of the spine, the binding taking place by means of the binding agent being activated by an activation device (9) such that said side edge of the sheaf of papers will be connected to the inside of the spine via the binding agent. Each cover (1) acts on a sensing means (40), which senses the presence or non-presence of indication means connected to the cover and which actuates means for influencing the further course of the procedure. The invention also relates to a cover provided with indication means (7) sensed in the above described way.

摘要: There is described a protector for the corner of an article, the article at the corner having two substantially plane, usually parallel, faces and adjacent edge faces 22, 23, the protector having two spaced members 13, 14 to slide over respective ones of said faces and side wall members connecting the two spaced members for overlying the edge faces, the members defining a mouth to allow the protector to be applied to the corner, the side wall members having at least a portion 18 intermediate the spaced members adapted to resist movement of the spaced members towards or away from each other.
Each side wall has confronting flanges 16, 19 connected by web 18 and parallel slots 9 are formed in the flanges, an L shaped web 30 connects web 18 and provides central protection for the article corner. Corner junction 40 may be strengthened by a bead.

摘要: An electrocardiographic (ECG) device for sensing cardiac activity in a user comprises a set of electric potential (EP) sensors 101, 102 provided within an insulating mat 105 and a set of indicia on the surface of the mat indicating an optimal location and orientation of a user's hands. The hands of the user are placed so that the sensors 101, 102 lie under the ball of the thumb of each hand. The indicia may be an outline of a pair of hands or indentations in the surface of the mat. The mat may include further EP sensors 103, 104 and indicia indicating the position of a user s feet. A control unit 112 processes the data from the sensors and may determine whether the user is optionally engaged with the device and indicate how to improve the engagement. The invention may involve controlling the interaction of a user with an electromyographic device. A similar mat may be used for an infant to determine whether the infant is sleeping in a safe position. The control unit 112 may determine the most likely position in which the user is engaged with the sensors and analyze the data accordingly.
