    摘要: An apparatus (10) for wiping a window (12) has a wiper (16), a first track (70) substantially parallel to at least a portion of the window and a second track (76) substantially parallel to and displaced from the first track. A first motorized drive wheel (24) is provided for driving the wiper along the first track in a first direction and a second motorized drive wheel for driving the wiper along the second track in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, so as to wipe the window. The wiper is preferably designed to reduce drag-back of water across the window. In a preferred embodiment, curved connecting tracks (82, 84) connect between the ends of the first track (72, 74) and the second track (78, 80) so as to form a closed loop track. A single motorized drive wheel is used. The single motorized drive wheel may be driven by a motor (86) rotatably associated with the wiper, or through a flexible drive cable (138) by a remotely mounted motor (140). Other embodiments use a single substantially linear track in combination with a motor running unidirectionally.

The wiper assembly includes a wiper support structure and a wiper blade attached to the wiper support structure. The scrubber element is movably attached to the scrubber support structure and extends between a first end and a spaced apart second end along a central longitudinal axis. The scmbber element can have a hardness value sufficient to remove ice from the windshield. The motor is mounted to the scmbber support structure and is engaged with the scrubber element to move the scrubber element to remove ice. An engaging assembly can be coupled with the wiper assembly and the scmbber assembly to raise and lower the scrubber assembly with respect to the wiper assembly.
