摘要: A mooring line retaining mechanism 10, mountable to a support, comprises a C-shaped retaining ring 12 provided with a deflectable gate 14, the gate 14 being biased to allow passage of a mooring line from an exterior to an interior 19 of the retaining ring 12 only. The gate 14 may comprise a single pivoting gate leaf or a pair of gate leaves 14a, 14b. One portion of a loop provided at an end of a mooring line is passed through the deflectable gate 14 and into an interior 19 of the retaining ring 12, so that the retaining ring 12 and loop are interlocked. When the second portion of the loop is passed through the gate 14, the retaining ring 12 and loop are no longer interlocked and the mooring line is released. An alternative version of the mooring line retaining mechanism 20 also has a pair of horns 34a, 34b extending outwardly from its retaining ring 22 in opposite directions, allowing the mooring line to be wound around the horns 34a, 34b, for added security.

The vessel includes a hull 22, a mooring line winch unit 7, at least one mooring line extending from said winch unit 7, and a weight 14 at an end of the at least one mooring line. A mooring line guide boom 5 with at least one mooring line guide on a mooring line guide portion 26 is movable between a retracted position aligned with the hull 22, and an extended position. In the extended position the mooring line guide boom 5 allows the winch unit 7 to lower the weight 14 at the end of the mooring line extending through the mooring line guide and onto a quay 1.

摘要: An apparatus for testing a mooring bollard is disclosed. The apparatus has first and second connector ropes for attaching the apparatus to a pair of bollards. There is also a pulling device (such as a hydraulic ram) for applying a pulling force to the bollards via the connector ropes. The device further includes a pulling force measuring device connected between the ram and one of the connector ropes, for measuring the pulling force being applied between the bollards. Finally there is a computer system for controlling the hydraulic ram and for gathering data from the data measuring device.

摘要: Apparatus for temporarily holding back a tensioned rope 22 from one or more bollard pins 12 on a deck 10 of a vessel. The apparatus comprises a wedge thimble (32, Fig 2) inserted or insertable into an eye 30 at an upper end of the rope and a locking element 50 positionable to act between the wedge thimble and the or each bollard pin to transfer tension load from the rope to the or each bollard pin. At least one support part 14 may be coupled to at least one bollard pin and the locking element is then cooperable with the or each bollard pin via the support part. The locking element may be movable relative to the wedge thimble or may be removable from the wedge thimble. The locking element may be a rod that can be inserted into a bore (48, Fig 6) of the wedge thimble. Methods of using the apparatus are also disclosed.
