摘要: Various reconfigurations of propulsion mechanisms, propellers, propeller blades, and/or blade sections of propulsion mechanisms, and/or wing sections of a ring wing of an aerial vehicle are described. For example, responsive to a fault or failure of a propulsion mechanism, the remaining propulsion mechanisms, propellers, propeller blades, and/or blade sections of the remaining propulsion mechanisms, and/or one or more wing sections may be modified to maintain control and safety of the aerial vehicle. In example embodiments, cant angles, toe angles, positions, and/or orientations of one or more propulsion mechanisms, angular orientations, positions, and/or lengths of one or more propellers, propeller blades, and/or blade sections of propulsion mechanisms, and/or positions, angular orientations, pitches, and/or pivots of one or more wing sections may be modified to maintain control and safety in either a horizontal, wingborn flight orientation, or a vertical, VTOL flight orientation.

摘要: An unmanned air-vehicle with deployable components comprising:
a fuselage;
a wing arrangement segmented in a left wing section and a right wing section to enable variable sweep at approximately a lateral plane of symmetry between the left wing section and the right wing section, the wing arrangement being configurable in a first arrangement, a second arrangement, and third arrangement,
the first arrangement comprising the left wing section and the right wing section stowed against the fuselage at a first sweep deployment angle,
the second arrangement comprising the wing arrangement fully deployed for flight at a second sweep deployment angle, and
the third arrangement comprising the wing arrangement deployed in any sweep deployment angle between the first sweep deployment angle and the second sweep deployment angle; and
a sweeping means configured to pivot the left wing section and the right wing section to enable the wing arrangement to sweep from the first arrangement to the second arrangement at any sweep deployment angle, the sweeping means being covered by a flexible fairing positioned relatively at a base of the left wing section and the right wing section.-

a first wing section comprising a substantially hollow interior; and
a second wing section configured to be stowed within the interior of the first wing section such that an external surface of the second wing section is adjacent to an internal surface of the first wing section, wherein the second wing section is attached to a fuselage of an aerial vehicle and has a lesser chord length than the first wing section, wherein the first wing section and the second wing section form a first wingspan in a first arrangement comprising the second wing section stowed within the interior of the first wing section, and wherein the first wing section and the second wing section form a second wingspan in a second arrangement comprising the first wing section displaced along at least a portion of a length between a first end and a second end of the second wing section, wherein the length of an exposed portion of the second wing section increases as the first wing section is displaced.
