The invention concerns a device for purging a high flow rate polymer extruder comprising a discharge valve (12) for evacuating the melted polymer outside the extruder. A cutting device (14) is arranged at said discharge valve (12) outlet for cutting up into blocks a continuous polymer flow at the discharge valve (12) outlet. A conveying device, preferably hydraulic (40, 42) is provided at the cutting device (14) output so as to drive the blocks (16') in a liquid current and transport them outside the discharge valve (12) discharge zone. The hydraulic conveying device preferably comprises a discharge tube (40) provided with a liquid injecting device, and a drain (42), provided with a device (60) for generating a vigorous liquid current in the drain (42).

Für den Transport von insbesondere Halbleiterscheiben sowie für den Einsatz bei Prozessen zu deren Reinigung wird eine Vorrichtung vorgeschlagen, in der die Scheiben mit Hilfe von Fluiden, vor allem wässrigen Medien, bewegt werden. Diese besteht aus einer Führungsplatte (1), in deren Plattenboden (3) jeweils verschieden geneigte, voneinander unabhängige Düsensysteme (4,5,6,7) vorgesehen sind, durch welche das Transportfluid bei Bedarf in den Transportraum gepreßt wird, wodurch die Scheibe eingeschleust, abgebremst, in Drehung versetzt und wieder ausgeschleust werden kann. Die Vorrichtungen lassen sich zu Behandlungsstraßen kombinieren, wobei in den einzelnen Abschnitten jeweils verschiedene Fluide eingesetzt werden. Der Vorteil liegt darin, daß beim Abbremsen und Rotieren keine mechanisch bewegten Teile an den Scheiben angreifen, und daß innerhalb einer Behandlungsstation kein Chemikalienwechsel vorgenommen werden muß.

The new feature of a conveying system according to the invention is that the tube connection (2) has an inner cross - sectional area, preferably a circular cross - sectional area, with a size greater than the largest cross- sectional area of an item (9), and which is preferably provided with at least twice the cross - sectional area compared with the largest cross-sectional area of an item. Hereby is achieved the advantage that several items may be conveyed in the same tube connection at the same time, where these items are sent individually and successively, corresponding to one item being sent immediately after another.

The conveyor has an elongated primary plenum (4) and one or more elongated body members (12) disposed over and in communication with the primary plenum through openings in the bottom wall (22) of each body member. Each body member has a generally planar top deck (30) disposed thereover. Each body member defines a secondary plenum (32) between the top deck and the bottom wall of the body member. The top deck has a plurality of directional orifices (44, 45) formed therein. Blowers (40) in communication with the primary plenum supply air to the secondary plenum through the primary plenum. The air from the secondary plenum is delivered through the directional orifices in the top deck and creates a current, or cushion, of air on which the objects move. Manually adjustable dampers (52) are provided for restricting the size of the openings and regulating the air pressure between the primary plenum and the secondary plenums. The conveyor may also have guide rails (98) for controlling object movement.
