    Abstract: A porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) includes a first fabric-resin layer (102) having a first plurality of fibers (112) and a first resin (114a) and a second fabric-resin layer (104) having a second plurality of fibers (112) and a second resin (114b). The second fabric-resin layer (104) is positioned further outward from the center of the porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) than the first fabric-resin layer (102). In response to the porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) being heated to a curing temperature, the first resin (114a) and/or the second resin (114b) is configured to separate into a fusible resin and a plurality of fugitive pore formers (115). Accordingly, a volume of the fugitive pore formers (115) sequentially increases from a center of the porosity gradient fibrous preform (100) toward an outer surface of the porosity gradient fibrous preform (100).
