摘要： A light-reflective flowable and curable composition comprises a resin containing light-reflective solid particles in an amount and of average particle size sufficient to provide the desired light reflectance/transmittance characteristics to the cured composition. Preferably, the composition is self-levelling and the solid particles comprise magnesium oxide, barium sulphate, aluminium oxide or mixtures thereof. The compositions of the invention are useful as reflective coatings in various applications, such as for radiation detector devices including scintillator crystals. For instance, a scintillator crystal block (1), mounted on a base (4) within a housing (7), has channels or grooves (3) separating it into elements (2) and these are optically isolated from one another by means of the light-reflective curable composition.

摘要： A luminescent compound comprising an oligomer or a limited molecular weight polymer of an alkylalkoxysilane comprising a phosphor group or groups, and a luminescent composition comprising such luminescent compound and a radioactive substance to provide a source of exciting radiation for the luminescent compound in the composition. The present invention further comprises a method for rendering silliceous surfaces luminescent comprising applying the compound or composition to the surface and reacting the compound or composition with water after the compound or composition has migrated into the surface to hydrolyze the compound or composition. The present invention further comprises a luminescent structure having a siliceous surface incorporating the products of the reaction between the surface, water and the compound or composition of the present invention.
