Abstract:
This invention relates to a catalyst system comprising (a) at least one layer of a first catalyst comprising a dehydrogenation active metal on a solid support; (b) at least one layer of a second catalyst comprising a metal oxide; and (c) at least one layer of a third catalyst comprising a transition metal on an inor-ganic support; wherein the at least one layer of a second catalyst is sandwiched between the at least one layer of a first catalyst and the at least one layer of a third catalyst; and a process comprising contacting a hydrocarbon feed with the catalyst system.
Abstract:
A system and process for upgrading a whole crude oil feed in an integrated ebullated-bed and hydrotreater is provided in which the whole crude oil is flashed into a flashed straight run distillates fraction and an atmospheric residue fraction. The atmospheric residue fraction is hydroprocessed in an ebullated-bed reaction zone, while the flashed straight run distillates fraction and the products fraction produced from the ebullated-bed reaction zone are hydrotreated in a fixed-bed reaction zone. The unconverted residue fraction from the ebullated-bed reaction zone is processed in a coker unit to produce high quality petroleum green coke.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for converting a high-boiling hydrocarbon feedstock into lighter boiling hydrocarbon products, said lighter boiling hydrocarbon products being suitable as a feedstock for petrochemicals processes, said converting process comprising the following steps of: feeding a hydrocarbon feedstock having a boiling point of >350 deg Celsius to a cascade of hydrocracking unit(s), feeding the bottom stream of a hydrocracking unit as a feedstock for a subsequent hydrocracking unit, wherein the process conditions in each hydrocracking unit(s) are different from each other, in which the hydrocracking conditions from the first to the subsequent hydrocracking unit(s) increase from least severe to most severe, and processing the lighter boiling hydrocarbon products from each hydrocracking unit(s) as a feedstock for one or more petrochemicals processes.
Abstract:
A process for upgrading residuum hydrocarbons including: feeding pitch, hydrogen, and a partially spent catalyst recovered from a hydrocracking reactor to an ebullated bed pitch hydrocracking reactor; contacting the pitch, hydrogen, and the catalyst in the ebullated bed pitch hydrocracking reactor at reaction conditions of temperature and pressure sufficient to convert at least a portion of the pitch to distillate hydrocarbons; and separating the distillate hydrocarbons from the catalyst. In some embodiments, the process may include selecting the ebullated bed pitch hydrocracking reactor reaction conditions to be at or below the level where sediment formation would otherwise become excessive and prevent continuity of operations.
