The creping adhesive can include a first thermosetting polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin that includes a reaction product of a first epihalohydrin and a first polyamidoamine containing one or more secondary amine groups, a first thermoplastic polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin that includes a reaction product of a second epihalohydrin and a second polyamidoamine containing one or more secondary amine groups, and one or more re-wetting agents. The first thermosetting polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin can have a weight average molecular weight of about 800,000 to about 1,200,000 and a molar ratio of the first epihalohydrin to the secondary amine groups of about 0.002:1 to about 0.1:1. The first thermoplastic polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin can have a weight average molecular weight of about 40,000 to about 200,000 and a molar ratio of the second epihalohydrin to the secondary amine groups of about 0.001:1 to about 0.1:1.

摘要: Tissue sheets are disclosed containing an additive composition. The additive composition is applied to the tissue sheet during a creping process in a controlled manner such that the additive composition forms deposits on the sheet separated by untreated areas. In one embodiment, the additive composition is applied to a creping surface. A wet tissue sheet is then transferred to the creping surface by a topographical surface containing elevations. The elevations press the tissue sheet against the creping surface. When creped from the surface, the additive compositions transfers to the tissue sheet according to where the elevations were located on the topographical surface.

摘要: Methods for improving one or more surface properties of a sheet of paper or paperboard, which method comprises (a) coating at least one side of the sheet of paper or paperboard with a dispersion having a cationic zeta potential formed by combining (1) a mixture containing one or more anionic pigments with (2) one or more polyamine- epihalohydrin cationic wet strength resins at a coating weight of from about 0.1 g/m to about 20 g/m; (b) drying the coated sheet of paper or paperboard; (c) applying a functional barrier top coating that resists one or more of the following: liquid water, water vapor, gas permeability, oil and grease, slip, and static or an anionic latex based pigment coating that imparts improved opacity, brightness, or printability. The invention also includes the dispersions as well as paper or paperboard coated with the dispersion.
