摘要: A method for applying a coating to a surface comprising providing a sprayable liquid binding agent formed of first and second components, pumping the first and second components of the binding agent to a first dispensing device (13) and combining the first and second components in the first dispensing device (13) to form the binding agent. The method further comprises spraying the binding agent from the first dispensing device (13) on to a surface to be coated (32), providing a particulate medium, and spraying the particulate medium from a second dispensing device (37) into the liquid spray of binding agent produced by the first dispensing device (13). The binding agent coating the particulate medium and adhering it to the surface (32) to form a coating thereon. An apparatus for performing the method is also described.

摘要: A method of forming a multi-layer coated particulate material, the method including the steps of: mixing a first thermoplastic polymer with a particulate substrate to form a mixture at a temperature greater than a melting point of the first thermoplastic polymer; cooling the mixture to a temperature below the melting point of the first thermoplastic polymer; combining the cooled mixture with a second thermoplastic polymer, wherein a melting point of the second thermoplastic polymer is less than the temperature of the cooled mixture; and cooling the combined mixture to a temperature less than the melting point of the second polymer. In another aspect, embodiments disclosed herein relate to a particulate material having: a particulate substrate coated with a first layer comprising a first thermoplastic polymer and a second layer comprising a second thermoplastic polymer; wherein a melting point of the first thermoplastic polymer is greater than a melting point of the second thermoplastic polymer.
