摘要: A method comprises determining that an aftertreatment system is in a cold-operation mode; initiating a low engine-out NOx (LEON) mode by controlling a component of a vehicle containing the aftertreatment system to decrease an instantaneous engine out NOx (EONOx) amount and to increase exhaust energy relative to a normal operation mode for an engine of the vehicle; receiving information indicative of an operating status of the vehicle during the LEON mode; disengaging the LEON mode; subsequent to disengaging the LEON mode, initiating a thermal management (TM) mode for the aftertreatment system, wherein the TM mode is initiated by controlling a component of the vehicle to increase fueling to the engine for a power level by reducing engine efficiency and directing excess fuel to the aftertreatment system; receiving information indicative of an operating status of the vehicle during the TM mode; and disengaging the TM mode.

摘要: A pressure monitor is arranged to calculate a pre turbine pressure ( p 3 ). The monitor is programmed to:
o derive a normalized turbine speed, normalized for a pre turbine temperature, and a heat capacity ratio of exhaust gas before the turbine as first inputs;
o determine a turbine power normalizing factor as a second input;
o determine an actual turbocompressor power value as a third input;
o derive, for said first inputs, a linear relation between a turbine expansion ratio and a turbine power value normalized by the second input;
o equate the turbine power value to the actual turbocompressor power; thereby deriving the pre turbine pressure from said linear relation, as an output.-

摘要: A method for fabricating a vane for a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) includes the steps of providing or obtaining a substrate metal in powdered form, mixing a binder with the powdered substrate metal to form a mixture, performing an injection molding process using the mixture to form a green substrate in the shape of the vane, debinding the green substrate to form a brown substrate in the shape of the vane having a porous structure, applying a surface treatment slurry to at least a portion of the brown substrate, and sintering the surface treated brown substrate to form the vane.
