An improved cyclical centrifugal machine (10) includes a rigid support (14) mounted above the basket (22) of the machine, a bearing housing (20) suspended from the support for gyratory motion, a basket-carrying spindle (18) rotatable in fixed position relative to the housing on bearings therein, and an electric motor (12) for bringing the spindle and basket to rotational speed. The improved centrifugal machine (10) also comprises a system for controlling transmission of torque from the motor (12) to the basket (22) by means of a clutch (26) having relatively rotatable clutch members (44) and (50) adapted to transmit torque through liquid films between them. The clutch (26) is operated to vary the torque transmitted from the motor (12) to the basket (22) so as to produce a maximum load to be placed on the motor (12) for producing a desired basket speed. To so operate the clutch (26), signals proportionate respectively to the instantaneous load on the motor (12) and the instantaneous speed of the basket (22) and reference signals representing respectively the maximum load to be placed on the motor (12) and the desired operating speed, are compared to produce from them a resultant signal representing the instantaneous relationship of the actual load on the motor (12) to the maximum load. The clutch (26) is then operated to vary the torque transmitted through the liquid films between the clutch members (44) and (50) in response to the resultant signal to produce the maximum load.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kupplung 5 zur Drehmomentbegrenzung, insbesondere im Antriebsstrang zum Antrieb landwirtschaftlicher Geräte. Sie weist Mitnehmer 16 auf, die von der Drehmomentübertragungsposition in eine Abschaltposition nach innen bezüglich der Drehachse 15 verschoben werden, wenn der Überlastfall eintritt. Sie werden durch einen Schaltring 31 wieder zum Eingriff in eine Ausnehmung 47 der Kupplungshülse 49 bewegt, wenn eine übereinstimmende Lage zwischen den Mitnehmern 16 und den Ausnehmungen 47 vorhanden ist. Bei hohen Differenzdrehzahlen läßt dies ein Wiedereinschalten nicht zu, führt andererseits aber zu Verschleiß und Drehschwingungen und wird dadurch gemindert, daß dem die Mitnehmer 16 beaufschlagenden Schaltring 31 Fliehsegmente 41' zugeordnet sind, die bei Überschreitung des eingestellten Drehmomentes vom Schaltring 31 freigegeben werden und diesen und damit die Mitnehmer 16 an einer Einnahme der Drehmomentübertragungsposition hindern, solange eine vorbestimmte Grenzdrehzahl noch überschritten wird. Bei der Bewegung in die Abschaltposition als auch zurück in die Drehmomentübertragungsposition werden die Mitnehmer 16 durch einen Stützring 20 geführt, der eine gleichmäßige Bewegung bewirkt. Hierdurch wird der Verschleiß an den drehmomentübertragenden Flächen weiter verringert.

There is provided a power transmission device that can apply engine brake by transmitting a rotational force on the side of a wheel to the side of an engine by bringing driving clutch plates and driven clutch plates into press contact with each other when a pressure member is located at a non-actuation position, and that allows power transmission to be performed stably when a weight member is moved to a radially outer position and the pressure member is moved to an actuation position. The power transmission device includes a clutch member, comprising a first clutch member (4a), a second clutch member (4b), a back torque transmission cam that can bring the driving clutch plates (6) and the driven clutch plates (7) into press contact with each other by moving the second clutch member (4b) when a rotational force is input to the first clutch member (4a) via an output shaft (3) when the pressure member (5) is located at the non-actuation position, and a torque transmission portion that can transmit a rotational force transmitted to the second clutch member (4b) to the first clutch member (4a) not via the back torque transmission cam.

The biasing member (48; 148) is arranged to provide a biasing force that allows torque transfer from the input shaft (10;110) to the output shaft (12; 112) via one or more input friction plates (44;144) and one or more output friction plates (32;132). Rotation of the output shaft (12; 112) may cause the biasing force to vary to adjust the maximum torque setting of the clutch (5;105) during reeling-in or reeling-out of a winch cable (7a) around a winch drum (7). A retainer (50;150) may be included in the clutch (5;105) which retains the biasing member (48; 148) in operative connection with the output shaft (12; 112) and translates axially relative to the input shaft (10;110) upon rotation of the output shaft (12; 112). The axial translation may cause the biasing force to vary by varying the compression of the biasing member (48; 148).

A clutch device includes a slipper cam mechanism which releases a back torque by moving a clutch centre 13 in an axial direction. A plunger mechanism 40 is provided on the clutch centre 13, and is configured to engage with a movement restricting portion (a washer member 22) until a rotational speed of the clutch centre 13 reaches a threshold value, thus restricting axial movement of the clutch centre 13. The plunger mechanism 40 is configured to be operated by a centrifugal force when the rotational speed of the clutch centre 13 exceeds the threshold value, thus disengaging the engagement. The clutch device can stably perform starting of an engine by push starting even when the clutch device is equipped with a cam for a back torque limiter (slipper).
