The lever (802) is rotatable about an axis parallel to the powered rail (24) for moving the first inwardly-facing surface (G1) of the body (801) in a direction toward the second inwardly-facing surface (G2) of the latching arm (803) for securing the mounting apparatus (800) to the powered rail (24). A base plate (809) is fixed to the body (801) and is adapted to provide a mounting surface for securing the firearm accessory to the powered rail (24).
