摘要:
The present invention relates to a method of displaying a sequence of images producing a sensation of relief, comprising a step for producing a sequence of pairs of stereoscopic images. The sequence of pairs of stereoscopic images represents a diversity of filmed situations where at least one of the distances between the camera system, the foreground subject and the most distant plane varies. The production and/or construction step comprises, for each of the pairs of stereoscopic images, by adjustment and/or by calculation, a local and/or global adjustment, on at least one of the parameters formed by the stereoscopic disparity, the sharpness, the blurring and the light contrast, in order to minimize the effects of phantom images below the perception threshold of the observer equipped with said filtering glasses.

The invention relates to an optical assembly (100), an image processing apparatus (130), a method for recording a digital multispectral color image (136) and a method for retrieving left and right stereoscopic color images (122, 124, 300, 402) from the digital multispectral color image, resulting in a highly flexible, inexpensive and easy-to-use way to generate stereoscopic color images. The multispectral color image is recorded using an optical band-pass filter (104) having filter sectors(200, 202, 302, 400) the filter sectors having different image-separating pass-bands (216). The stereoscopic color images are recorded in a color space (RGB) comprising color channels (R, G, B), wherein each color channel overlaps at least one image-separating pass-band per filter sector. An image sensor (112) or a camera (113) comprises spectral bands (224) at each pixel (148) that match the image-separating pass bands, thus allowing to encode the stereoscopic channels in a multispectral color image. The image processing apparatus is configured to extract the stereoscopic color images from the digital multispectral color image.

A method of recording an image of an object onto cinematographic colour film comprises forming a number of successive images of the object through a single lens system (16) onto each frame of the film, the successive images being recorded in light of different characteristics, for example different colours. In a preferred embodiment, each frame of the film is exposed successively to light of two or three different colours. The film is projected using a conventional projector, and when viewed through spectacles consisting of two appropriate filters gives a stereoscopic effect. The method can be used to produce a film which can also be viewed without spectacles, and is found to give enhanced sharpness and colour saturation. Included is a moving film camera having a mechanism for interposing a number of filters (54, 56, 58) in the optical path successively during exposure of each frame so that successive images are overlaid on each frame. In one embodiment a rotatable shutter member (15) having a transparent portion consisting of a number of filters is provided. The shutter member may replace the rotating shutter of a conventional film camera. Several different forms of shutter member are described.

Anaglyph stereoscopic system wherein left and right images are encoded as complementary color fringes in the defocus regions such that the image, when viewed through appropriately filtered glasses, is perceived as a three-dimensional colored image but, when viewed without glasses, appears essentially as a normal two-dimensional colored image. In order to enhance the three-dimensional effect and the compatibility of the two-dimensional image, a special iris (38) is employed for controlling the amount of light passing through the taking lenses of the imaging system. Essentially, the iris restricts the amount of light in the vertical direction only, thereby retaining full left right separation as the amount of light passing through the filter is restricted by the iris. The taking filters (34) of the imaging system are selected so that after normal processing, the image colorimetry is not disturbed. This requires that the spectral characteristics of the photoreceptors maintain the same ratios with the filters as without. The glasses through which the three-dimensional image is viewed includes complementary color filtering means (Figs. 10 and 11) for the left and right lenses of approximately balanced luminosity characteristics. Viewer comfort is materially enhanced without substantial degradation of the stereoscopic image by providing for a limited amount of cross-talk between the respective lenses.
