    摘要: A circuit (Figs. 2A-2D) and method of providing an auto-on and/or auto-off capability for an audio device, of a type having an audio plug (14) which mates with the output jack of an audio source. The portable transmitter (10) modulates audio signals from the audio source onto a carrier and transmits them to a receiver. The auto-on and auto-off capability is provided to prolong battery life and degradation of the transmitter circuit and comprises pinching off a FET (Q2) when the circuit is in an “off” state. This occurs when a pre-determined threshold in a capacitor (C29) is reached by not discharging that capacitor. The capacitor (C29) is discharged by dropping a comparator input below a pre-determined threshold limit when presented with an audio peak and wherein the drop in value causes the comparator output to go low, causing the capacitor to discharge and causing the FET (Q2) to supply power to the regulator.

    摘要: A method is arranged to process a frame for an LCD with a modified polarity pattern. The pattern employs a polarity reversal scheme that results in line inversion and/or dot inversion patterns that are observable by pixel locations within the frame. The drive polarity for the column drivers in the LCD is toggled according to the modified polarity pattern. The scanning sequence for each row on the display is modified for cooperation with the pattern. A first subframe is scanned during a first interval while applying a first set of drive polarities. A second subframe is scanned during a second interval that is non-overlapping with the first time interval. The application of the method enables the column drivers in the LCD to operate with reduced power while retaining the benefits of line and dot inversion techniques.

    摘要: In a method and system for developing a neural system adapted to perform a specified task, a population of neural systems is selected, each neural system comprising an array of interconnected neurons, and each neural system is encoded into a representative genome. For a given genome, a processing gene encodes a neural output function for each neuron, and the connections from each neuron are encoded by one or more connection genes, each connection gene including a weight function. The given neural system is operated to perform the specified task during a trial period, and performance is continually monitored during the trial period. Reinforcement signals determined from the continually monitored performance are applied as inputs to the functions respectively associated with each of the processing genes and connection genes of the given neural system. At the conclusion of a trial period, the fitness of the given neural system for performing the specified task is determined, usefully as a function of the reinforcement signals applied during the trial periof. A set of genomes, respectively representing the neural systems of the population that have been determined to have the highest finjess values, are selected for use in forming a new generation of neural systems.

At least one support is disposed in the channel and receives the base of the merchandise unit or units. Each support has a rearward portion elevated at a first angle, a substantially horizontal forward portion, and an intermediate portion elevated at a second angle greater than the first angle and connecting the rearward and forward portions. When placed on the rearward portion of the support, the merchandise unit will descend by gravity to the forward portion of the support for access to the unit in a selected presentation position.
