摘要:
Systems and methods for providing a molten salt reactor are described. While the systems can include any suitable component, in some cases, they include a graphite reactor core (70) that defines an internal space (135), with multiple fuel wedges (180) being received in the internal space, and with the wedges each defining a fuel channel (155) extending from a first end to a second end of each of the wedges. In some cases, the reactor further includes a fuel pin rod (160) that defines an internal fuel conduit and that is disposed between at least two of the wedges. In some cases, the reactor core defines a fuel ingress port (151) and a fuel egress port (152). In some such cases, the reactor core is rotatably received within a reactor housing such that the ports are configured to become at least one of more occluded and less occluded as the reactor core rotates. Other implementations are described.
摘要:
A pressure-tube nuclear reactor can include an outer shell having an interior to contain a moderator at a first pressure and a coolant plenum to receive the coolant fluid at a second pressure, the second pressure being greater than the first pressure. The reactor also includes a plurality of pressure tubes. Each pressure tube is received within and extends through a corresponding shell tube and is configured to releasably retain at least one fuel bundle. A first end of each pressure tube being coupled to the plenum tubesheet in fluid communication with the plenum chamber and a second end of each pressure tube fluidly connected to a coolant conduit to enable the coolant fluid to flow between the coolant plenum and each pressure tube and to flow from the nuclear reactor for further processing.
