摘要: A satellite terminal and a machine-implemented method are provided for encoding a burst header of a burst for transmission on an inroute. One component of a group of satellite terminal components consisting of an ASIC, a FPGA, and a DSP, generates a burst header having five information bits encoded therein. The five information bits may be encoded using a Reed-Muller code, a (32, 5) block code or a convolutional code having a code rate of either 1/5 or 1/10. The five information bits may represent one or more of a modulation type for a payload of the burst, a code rate for encoding the payload, a code type, and a spreading factor for spreading the payload during transmission. A satellite gateway and a machine-implemented method are also provided for decoding a burst header of a burst received on an inroute as described above.

摘要: The present invention provides a wireless communication device and a wireless communication system which can improve the error detection accuracy with the sound quality maintained to some extent even if the communication environment is deteriorated. A cordless phone establishes a digital link on a wireless channel between a master device and a slave device, compresses a sound signal in an ADPCM scheme, and carries the sound signal in a sound packet to perform communication. In a master device side, a PCM signal is converted into ADPCM data by an ADPCM encoding unit. Next, the least significant bit of n-bits is set according to the number of "1" of the n-bits of the ADPCM data by a transmission conversion table. In a slave device side, it is determined whether an error has occurred according to the number of "1" of the n-bit data in received data. If the error exists, the n-bit sound data is converted into mute data through a reception conversion table. The sound data converted through the reception conversion table is converted into a PCM signal from an ADPCM format by an ADPCM decoding unit.

摘要: In a coding system, input data within a system is encoded. The input data might include sequences of symbols that repeat in the input data or occur in other input data encoded in the system. The encoding includes determining a target segment size, determining a window size, identifying a fingerprint within a window of symbols at an offset in the input data, determining whether the offset is to be designated as a cut point and segmenting the input data as indicated by the set of cut points. For each segment so identified, the encoder determines whether the segment is to be a referenced segment or an unreferenced segment, replacing the segment data of each referenced segment with a reference label and storing a reference binding in a persistent segment store for each referenced segment, if needed. Hierarchically, the process can be repeated by grouping references into groups, replacing the grouped references with a group label, storing a binding between the grouped references and group label, if one is not already present, and repeating the process. The number of levels of hierarchy can be fixed in advanced or it can be determined from the content encoded.

摘要: A data encoder, data decoder, data encoding method, and data decoding method for encoding and decoding original data by using a simple algorithm while minimizing encoding errors. A means (1a) divides original data, such as sound data, into high- and low-order components of data. A means (1b) produces differential data between the high-order components of data. A means (1c) produces data indicating the number of original data. A means (1d) combines the low-order components of data with the differential data. Since the differentials of the high-order components of data, which are less variable, are used, the original data can be encoded and decoded by a simple algorithm while minimizing encoding errors.
