A power supply for a video display tube includes a deflection transformer with a primary winding powered with a scan voltage which has a first value when displaying signal according to a first video standard and a second voltage when displaying video according to a second standard. A secondary winding of the transformer produces filament voltage for the display tube. A variable coupler couples the filament voltage to the filament of the picture tube in an amount established by a control signal. A memory produces a first control signal in response to the first scan voltage and a second control signal in response to the second scan voltage. The first and second control signals are selected so that the voltage coupled from the transformer to the filament is the same at both scan voltages.

Die Einrichtung (4) ist mit geeigneten Mitteln versehen, um unabhängig von der Bildauflösung Moiré-Effekte weitgehend zu vermeiden. Die Erfindung wird angewandt in der Bildtechnik.

A noise suppressing arrangement in the form of an interface is provided between a data transfer circuit and a driver associated with a display unit VFD tube. The driver and power supply circuits associated with the display unit feature improved arrangements which attenuate surges and spike. The voltage appearing on the grid of the VFD is controlled by a circuit which is responsive to a signal produced by microcomputer which controls the illumination and which induces changes in the voltages applied across the filament of the VFD. The level of illumination can be automatically controlled by light sensor and illumintion levels above default values are automatically reset to optimal values each time the system is initially energized.

A video signal is coupled from the output of a display driver amplifier (20) to an image display device (35) via a coupling network (26) including cascaded emitter follower transistors (41,42) of opposite conductivity type. First (43) and second (44) diodes are respectively connected across the base-emitter junctions of each transistor and are poled for forward current conduction in a direction opposite to that of the associated base-emitter junction. The coupling network significantly reduces the value of capacitance of the display device as presented to the output of the driver amplifier, thereby improving positive and negative video signal transient response.
