    摘要: Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a communication apparatus. In this application, a network device receives first indication information from a core network device, where the first indication information indicates the network device to trigger, after receiving uplink data from a terminal device, another terminal device to access the network device. In this case, after the network device receives first uplink data from the terminal device, the network device may first release a connection to the terminal device based on the first indication information, and then trigger the another terminal device to access the network device. According to the method, complexity of data transmission and processing procedures of an inventory taking procedure transplanted to a cellular network can be reduced, so that an inventory taking rate of the terminal device (namely, a tag) and a communication capacity of a system are effectively improved.
