    Durch diese Anordnung wird gewährleistet, dass der Mahlrollenschwerpunkt immer mit konstanter Umlauffrequenz im Mahlring umläuft. Ausserdem garantiert die kardanische Aufhängung der Mahlrolle, dass sich ihr Drehimpuls beim Umlauf nicht ändert, so dass die auf das Mühlengehäuse wirkenden Drehmomente klein bleiben.
