A steering damper (300) is provided at an under bracket of a front fork (FF). The steering damper (300) is located in front of the under bracket (20). A duct unit (8) is provided in front of a head pipe (103). The duct unit (8) passes forward between left and right fork tubes (104) and between an upper bracket (10) and the under bracket (20), and extends to a position above the steering damper (300). Further, the duct unit (8) further extends forward from the position above the steering damper (300) to a position further forward and downward than the steering damper (300).

An improved stabilizer for the steering of a vehicle. The stabilizer comprises a housing (1) containing one or more sector-shaped chambers (2) with a wiper (7) rotatably mounted in the housing. For each chamber a paddle (10) extends from the rotor of the wiper into the chamber. The wiper moves sealingly past the housing. For each paddle a bypass channel (19) allows fluid on one side of the paddle to move to the other side of the paddle. A valve in the bypass channel controls the degree of damping produced by the stabilizer. The valve has a control shaft (14) in the center of the rotor, and on the shaft there is a continuous indentation around such shaft with there being no indentation in a first area of the shaft and then the indentation commencing and having an increasingly larger cross-sectional area as the indentation progress around the control shaft.

A steering damper control apparatus includes an MR damper 45 having an adjustable steering damping force, a suspension pressure sensor 41 for detecting a pressure of a front suspension, a command value output unit 81 for determining a damping force command value according to a pressure change rate of the front suspension 40 based on a detection result of the suspension pressure sensor 41, and a damper driver 77 for causing the MR damper 45 to generate a damping force corresponding to the damping force command value. At a point of time when steering has become easily shakable, the damping force corresponding to the damping force command value can be generated to inhibit shaking of the steering beforehand.
