摘要: A rotary fluid device comprises: a cylinder (21) having an annular cylinder chamber (50); an annular piston (22) which is accommodated in the cylinder chamber (50) to be eccentric relative to the cylinder (21), the annular piston (22) dividing the cylinder chamber (50) into an outer working chamber (51) and an inner working chamber (52); and a blade (23) placed in the cylinder chamber (50) and partitioning each of the working chambers (51, 52) into a high-pressure space and a low-pressure space. The cylinder (21) and the piston (22) relatively rotate. The outer working chamber (51) constitutes a compression chamber which compresses and discharges a sucked fluid with the progress of the relative rotation of the cylinder (21) and the piston (22). The inner working chamber (52) constitutes an expansion chamber which expands and discharges a sucked fluid with the progress of the relative rotation of the cylinder (21) and the piston (22).

摘要: A rotary internal combustion engine comprises a chamber, a cam member (8), within said chamber, a rotor (3) surrounding said cam member and mounted for rotation with respect to said cam member about a fixed axis in the chamber, fuel and air inlet means (10) to the chamber, an ignition device (12) and exhaust outlet means (9) from the chamber angularly spaced about said axis, and a plurality of radially displaceable sealing members (5) angularly spaced with respect to said axis and each passing through said rotor radially, portions of the sealing members contacting the rotor and the chamber wall and to divide the chamber into compartments, inward portions of the sealing members contacting the rotor and the cam member forming interior compartments. The sealing members are divided into radially inner and radially outer portions and means (34) is provided urging said portions radially apart. Lubricating fluid is pumped from the interior compartments for cooling and/or filtering upon rotation of said rotor and said sealing members. The cross section of the chamber perpendicular to said axis is a continuous circular curve with two diametrically opposed arc shaped bulges each defining a space between the rotor and the chamber, and the shape of the cam member follows that of the chamber so that the radial distance between the cam surface of the cam member and the interior wall of the chamber is substantially constant, and such that the rotation of the rotor is accompanied by radial displacement of the sealing members through said rotor by the cam member to maintain contact between the sealing members and the chamber wall. A pump or compressor may be similarly constructed.

摘要: The casing (1) of a positive displacement machine has a cylindrical internal surface (3) delimiting an operating chamber which accommodates an orbiting piston (4) having a cylindrical external surface. At least one of the said surfaces, e.g. the internal surface (3), is at least partly constituted by a peripheral wall (2) having a front surface facing the operating chamber and a rear surface. The peripheral wall (2) having through-slots (22) which extend parallel to one another and accommodate respective compliant strips (24) extending from the front surface to the rear surface. The strips (22) are retained in the slots (22), against pressure in the operating chamber, by a retaining device such as a clamping member (28). An assembly of three positive displacement machines and engines comprising first and second positive displacement machines are also described.
