摘要:
An image recording apparatus for recording an image corresponding to an original on a continuous image recording medium such as a photosensitive microcapsule sheet (37). The apparatus comprises exposure means for exposing the recording medium to light in an exposure zone (3-12) to form a latent image on the recording medium, developing means (20) for developing the latent image into a visible image, first feeding means (17) disposed downstream of the exposure zone for positively feeding the recording medium, and second feeding means (41, 42) disposed upstream of the exposure zone, the second feeding means being idly rotatable by the recording medium while the recording medium is being fed by the first feeding means. While the recording medium is being fed along the sheet path, it is exposed to light focused by exposure means. During image exposure, the recording medium is held flatwise against an exposure table (19) to allow accurate formation of the image thereon. To keep the recording medium flatwise against the exposure table, the recording medium is tensioned (44) near the exposure table.

A photographic copying apparatus for reproducing an image of an original on a sheet of photosensitive paper. A roll of photosensitive paper (S) mounted in a magazine (27) is fed downwardly and cut into sheets. Each sheet is sucked to a vertically arranged suction conveyor (22) and fed down. When it reaches a predetermined position, the feed of the sheet stops. An exposure table (1) which is turnable and movable between two points is turned to its upright position and pressed against the sheet on the conveyor. In this state, the suction conveyor stops sucking the sheet while the exposure table starts sucking it, so that the sheet is handed over to the latter. The table now carrying the sheet moves toward the other end for exposure. On its way, it is turned to bring the sheet carrying side up and passed under a corona charger (54). As the table reaches the other end where there is provided an exposure unit, it is turned again to an upright position. In this state, the light reflected by an original is shed on the sheet for light exposure. The table is then turned to bring its sheet carrying side down and moved in an opposite direction toward the conveyor. On its way, the sheet is brought into contact with one of several kinds of developing solutions in tanks which are adapted to be raised into contact with the sheet one after another. Any excess solution applied to the sheet is then removed by a squeezer (58). After this first development cycle, the table is turned by 180 degrees and moved toward the exposure unit again for another cycle of development. This cycle is repeated as many times as the number of colors used.

A method of controlling transport of a photoreceptive sheet (34), comprising the steps of: feeding the photoreceptive sheet (34) from a roll of the photoreceptive sheet (34) to an exposure position (P1) so as to subject the photoreceptive sheet (34) to image forming exposure and transporting the exposed photoreceptive sheet (34) to a buffer region (R); transporting to an image forming position (P2), the photoreceptive sheet (34) disposed at the buffer region (R); and feeding to the image forming position (P2), the photoreceptive sheet (34) disposed between the exposure position (P1) and the image forming position (P2).

An image recording apparatus employs a photo- and pressure-sensitive heat-developable material (S) having a substrate and a layer formed on the substrate from a material which is photo-sensitive and heat-developable and which enables the developed image to be fixed by a pressure. The apparatus has the following major parts: an exposure device (10) for exposing the material to an original image so as to form a latent image corresponding to the original image on the photo-sensitive material; a heat-developing device (26) for thermally setting the portion of the material corresponding to the latent image thereby immobilizing the image; a pressing transfer device (30) for superposing the material and an image-receiving material (C) in contact with each other and pressing them together; and a conveyor drum (24) defining a path of convey therearound. At least two of the exposure device (10), the heat-developing device (26) and the pressing transfer device (30) being arranged along the path.

Electrostatographic reproducing apparatus comprising a reusable electrostatographic imaging web (10) having an insulating imaging surface positioned between a web supply roll (14) and a web take up roll (20) each roll being fastened to an end of the web. The web is provided with means (41, 30, 36) to form an electrostatic latent image on the web and develop (40) said image with a toner. The image is formed and developed upon the passage of the web from the supply roll (14) to the take up roll (20), where the web with the toner image thereon is brought into contact with a copy sheet and wound around the take up roll (14) during the first cycle of a two cycle imaging process. During the second cycle of the imaging process the web is unwound from the take up roll and rewound on the supply roll (20) with the toner image being transferred to the copy substrate and the copy substrate, separated from the imaging web. The web is fully rewound on the web supply roll. In the specific embodiment the web (10) comprises a photoconductive insulating layer which is positively driven from the supply roll (20) in both the supply roll unwind and rewind directions and tension is maintained within the web by means of a spring (31) in the web take up roll (14). Furthermore, the circumference of the take up roll is at least equal to the length of the developed image on the web.
