The present invention is intended, in view of eliminating the possibility of destroying the insulation of varnished coils, to address the weakening of the mechanical strength in the coil axis direction in time of short circuiting in the manufacturing process of coils without varnishing. The invention relates to an oil-filled transformer mounted with an iron core formed of an amorphous ribbon or a silicon steel sheet and a coil of which both high-voltage and low-voltage windings are formed of flat or round conductor lead wires wound around the iron core, in which a thermosetting resin-impregnated fiber is wound in the coil axis direction around the coil in a tap line wire lead part, and further the thermosetting resin-impregnated fiber is wound in the outermost layer of the coil. As the thermosetting resin-impregnated fiber, a glass binding tape made of epoxy resin is used.

In the primary coil assembly 1 and the secondary coil assembly 2, the primary coils 1A are disposed at intervals to each other such that a winding end portion of one of adjacent primary coils 1A opposes a winding start portion of the other of the adjacent primary coils 1A, and one of the secondary coils 2A is disposed in each interval between the primary coils 1A such that a winding start portion of each secondary coil 2A opposes the winding end portion of one of the primary coils 1A, and a winding end portion of each secondary coil 2A opposes the winding start portion of the other of the primary coils.

A transformer in this invention comprises substrates constructing a primary winding, substrates constructing the secondary winding, and a core member disposed around the substrates. The substrates defining the primary winding are provided with insertion holes for passing a middle leg portion of the core member, and patterned conductors having one turn. The transformer further comprises an interlayer connection member. The interlayer connection member is located inwardly of the patterned conductors of the substrates defining the primary winding. The interlayer connection member is located on the same side of the patterned conductors defining the primary winding. The interlayer connection member is configured to establish the electrical connection of the patterned conductors defining the primary winding.
