A respective one of the coiled filaments is located in a respective first quadrant formed by intersecting planes that are perpendicular to each other (TA,TB) and that are tangent to an outer coil diameter of the respective coiled filament. The leads are positioned in quadrants other than the quadrant in which the coiled filament is located. A light irradiation type heat treatment apparatus uses a plurality of such filament lamps.

The invention relates to a small filament lamp for insertion into a circuit-board (1) opening (3) which takes the form of a holder for a small filament lamp and is co-ordinated with the base of the small filament lamp. The base (2) consists of an electrically insulating material and is provided with electric contacts (5, 6) which are used for electrical contact with strip conductors arranged on the circuit board (1), and take the form of holder contacts. The electric contacts of the socket (2) are in the form of leaf springs (5, 6) resting on the strip conductors of the circuit board (1), said strip conductors taking the form of holder contacts and being clamped to the edge of the circuit-board opening (3) with the result that the small filament lamp is fixed in the circuit-board opening (3) by the co-operation of the leaf springs (5, 6) with a support device (8, 9) acting as a thrust bearing for the leaf springs (5, 6) and attached to the base structure (2).
