    摘要: An absolute position encoder converts absolute mechanical position to a digital output value. A single-track, rotary embodiment of the encoder includes several conductive pick-up segments (21a, 22a, 23a, 24a, 25a) that are symmetrically arranged along a circular pick-up track, with each pick-up segment connected to a respective output terminal (21, 22, 23, 24, 25). A metallic rotor (27) of the encoder comprises a plurality of contacts (37) that are positioned in alignment with the pick-up track such that the contacts slidably contact different pick-up segments as the rotor is rotated. The contacts on the rotor are conductively interconnected, and are maintained at a common voltage via a sliding connection between the rotor and a collector ring (26a). The output of the encoder is a cyclical Gray code sequence, which may be used in combination with a ROM look-up table to accurately track position. Linear and multi-track embodiments are also disclosed.

    摘要: Information related to the rotary angular position of a steerable wheel portion of an electric vehicle is required for proper control of the vehicle and especially for differential control of the driven wheels of the vehicle. Available rotary position encoders are expensive, prone to damage in an industrial environment, and sensitive to misalignment between the encoder components. The instant apparatus provides a simple and durable rotary position encoder having a plurality of sensors positioned on a first mounting member and a plurality of sensible members positioned on a second mounting member. The apparatus is digital in design and the particular location and arrangement of the sensors and sensible members advantageously compensates for overtravel and misalignment of the encoder components.

    摘要: A magnetic position detector (2) includes a rotary mag­netic recording medium, which is divided into plural channels (CH0, CHl, CH2, CH3) each consisting of two tracks. A magnetic sensor (8) is fixedly provided so that, for each channel, two sets of magnetoresistive elements (R) spaced by a predetermined distance face the tracks, each set being composed of two elements. First elements of both the sets facing one of the tracks and second elements thereof facing the other track are structurally coupled at respective adjacent ends. Two coupling points thereof are connected to terminals for deriving output voltages from the elements and remaining ends opposite to the coupled ends to terminals for supplying the elements with source voltage. The second elements corresponding to a channel are structurally coupled with the first elements corresponding to an adjacent channel, wherein coupling points are connected to the terminals for supplying the source voltage.
    According to this, the sensor (8) can be made small in size and the resistivity against noise is much enhanced.

    摘要: An optical absolute encoder for detecting the rotational angle and rotational position of a motororthe like has a rotary symbol plate and a fixed plate. The rotary symbol plate has a plurality of concentric code-patterns constituted by light-transmitting portions and light-screening portions which are positioned alternately, and a reference pattern constituted only by a light-transmitting portion which is interposed between adjacent code patterns, concentrically with the code patterns. The fixed plate has first and second groups of code pattern slits arranges in the radial direction of the rotary symbol plate at a first predetermined distance to correspond to the code patterns, respectively, and a reference patterns light-transmitting portion disposed at a position corresponding to the reference pattern and separated from the center line of the code pattern slit groups by a second predetermined distance. This prevents any variation in voltage level of a reference signal due to light leakage.
