    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuos casting method of a thin cast slab using a horizontal type twin roll type continuos casting apparatus which can prevent the development of stuck shell at corner parts formed with side part weirs and cooling rolls and the apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method by supplying and cooling molten melt in a molten metal supplying part 3 surrounded by the outer peripheral surfaces of the cooled upper roll 1 and lower roll 3, the side part weirs 4, 4' arranged to face both side surfaces, these one pair of rolls and a lower part weir 5 arranged in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the lower roll 2 and the lower end surfaces of the side part weirs 4, 4' into a gap formed with the upper roll 1 and the lower roll 2, the lower roll 2 is wider than the upper roll 1 and both side surfaces of the lower roll 2 are arranged so as to extend outside from the both side surface of the upper roll 1. Further the side weirs 4, 4' are arranged in contact with the side surface of the upper roll 1 and approach the lower roll 2 and also, so that the difference parts in level are brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the lower roll 2, and after preheating the side part weirs 4, 4' with a heating means provided in the side part weirs 4, 4' the pouring of the molten metal into the molten metal supplying part 3 is started.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical type continuous dating method for a rectangular cross sectional aluminum alloy cast slab by which the aluminum cast slab without casting the crack of the cast slab can be cast. SOLUTION: The molten aluminum alloy is charged from the upper part of a vertical opening type forced cooling mold and a solidified shell is formed by primarily cooling with the mold and also, the cast slab forming the solidified shell is drawn out from the lower part of the forced cooling mold and cooling medium is made in direct contact with the surface of the drawn-out cast slab to execute a secondary cooling. In such a case, the secondary cooling medium fluid is injected so that the collision flow rate of the secondary cooling medium to be made in direct contact with the surface of the cast slab is uniformed, and is collided so that the collided position becomes horizontal on the surface of the cast slab.

    Abstract: The caster includes a pair of movable opposed belts, each of the belts having a casting surface and a pair of movable opposed dam blocks including a plurality of dam blocks having one end mounted to an orbiting support and a casting surface opposite the mounted end.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welded structure capable of being exactly sealed of cooling liquid by providing a cooling liquid hole in the vicinity of the outer peripheral surface at the inner part of a cooling roll and providing a cooling liquid flowing control member in the inner part of the cooling liquid hole, a supporting member for fitting the member in liquid-tightness and a seal cover. SOLUTION: The cooling liquid hole is bored so as to penetrate the axial directional cooling liquid hole 10a in the axial direction in a sleeve 2b for cooling and bored so as to form the radial directional cooling liquid hole 10b in the radial direction to pass the cooling water through a cooling liquid duct. A control member 3 is set in the axial directional cooling liquid hole 10a and a hollow hole 3a is arranged in the axial direction. A packing 20 foe sealing is arranged in a supporting member 4 of the member 3 to support the member 3 and also, to prevent the cooling liquid from flowing into a space part 7. The end part of the axial directional cooling liquid hole 10a is provided with the seal cover 5 and firmly sealed with welding.

CONSTITUTION: In a continuous casting machine of the sheet provided with a vibrating mold which consists of a longer mold and a shorter mold and is vibrated in the slab drawing direction, the vibrating mold is provided with a shorter mold 4 whose upper part is expanded and whose lower part is reduced, and which is made of the refractory of low heat conductivity. The sheet can be easily drawn without solidifying the molten steel 16 on the shorter side to enable the stable continuous casting of the sheet.
