    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventionally in a shaft furnace, refuse or refuse and auxiliary fuel are fed into a furnace from the side of a furnace body 2, accumulation of refuse or refuse and auxiliary fuel in the furnace body 2 is brought into uneven state, drift of high temperature gas in refuse occurs, and the increase of an operation cost and an equipment cost is caused thereby. SOLUTION: A feed port 5 for refuse or refuse and auxiliary fuel is formed in the side of the shaft furnace and a notch 27 is situated in a furnace directly below the feed port 5. It is preferable that size of protrusion of the notch 27 in the furnace be 1/2 the inside diameter of the furnace in a zone 261 of the shaft furnace where refuse is rich.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a furnace for the melting treatment of waste, reducing treatment cost when directly melting waste. SOLUTION: In a melting furnace wherein a waste charging device 2 is provided to the top of a shaft furnace 1 and tuyeres 3, 4 are arranged to the shaft furnace 1 over a plurality of stages, a graphite charging device 13 is provided to the top of the melting furnace and a heating coil 10 for supplying an AC current for the induction heating of graphite 12 accumulated on a hearth part 7 is arranged to the outer periphery of the lower part of the shaft furnace and waste is preheated, dried and pyrolyzed by the air supplied from the tuyeres 3, 4 and the pyrolysis residue in the waste is brought into contact with graphite brought to a high temperature state by induction heating to be melted. Graphite and coke may be charged in place of graphite.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shaft-type pyrolytic melting furnace in which a support gas fed from a tuyer surely flows without hindrance of refuse up to the lower layer of refuse which forms a melt zone, and spreads all over the lower part (melt zone), so as to prevent uneven melting of the refuse, and cause a stable melting reaction. SOLUTION: An angle protrusion 4 is formed on the furnace bottom, a narrowed opening 5 of a reduced inner diameter is formed above the protrusion. The lower layer of the refuse layer G is received at the reduced opening 5 to form a hollow 6 between the reduced opening and the furnace bottom face. The tuyer 3 is provided to the hollow to face to the protrusion. The support gas supplied from the tuyer ascends along the slant 40 of the protrusion.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method of a vertical self-burning type carbonizing furnace for organic wastes which maintains the temperature of exhaust gas from the furnace and the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas at set values or above, stabilizes thereby a state of burning in a burning zone and thus can ensure combustion decomposition of dioxin. SOLUTION: Secondary combustion air 6a is supplied to the burning zone of the vertical self-burning type carbonizing furnace, while primary combustion air 8a is supplied to a refining zone, and part of the organic wastes charged in is burned thereby and carbonized into charcoal by the heat of burning thereof. In this operating method of the vertical self-burning type carbonizing furnace, the quantity of the secondary combustion air is controlled so that the temperature of the exhaust gas at the exit of the burning zone or at a position on the downstream side thereof be a set temperature of 800 deg.C or above. By heating the burning zone by a burner 24, the temperature of the zone is raised so that the temperature of the exhaust gas be the set temperature of 800 deg.C or above.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a device which minimizes the quantity of used coke as far as possible when performing the fusion treatment of incinerated ash discharged from an incinerator and can utilize scrapped plastic to 100% at maximum as a heat source in the rotary kiln type of incinerator. SOLUTION: For this fusion disposer, a fusion furnace 20 is coupled with a discharge port for incinerated ash produced from a rotary kiln type of furnace 10. Fusion furnace 20 is constituted in such a way as (a) to arrange a gas cracking chamber 22, where a certain space for thermally cracking scrapped plastic by introducing carrying air and staying slag fusion temporarily is made at its lower part; (b) to let an introduction port 23 for carrying air for carrying in the pieces of scrapped plastic front on one pat of that gas cracking chamber; and (c) to form a combustion fusion chamber 27, where a luster 26 for accelerating the rise of cracked gas and the drop of fused slug is arranged above in that gas cracking chamber, and also an air introduction port for accelerating the combustion with cracked gas fronts on it, at its upper part of that gas cracking chamber, and to lead incinerated ash into that combustion fusion chamber so as to fuse it.
