Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column capable of suppressing an increase in the man-hours for installing on the column body side and also the cost even if the constitution is such that an airbag device for protecting knees is mounted. SOLUTION: The steering column SC is configured so that a column cover 10 is formed from an upper cover 11 and a lower cover 19. The airbag device AM is embodied as an airbag assembly AA. An opening for working 35 for fixing the airbag assembly AA to the column body 1 side is formed in the upper cover 11 or the lower cover 19. The airbag assembly AA is fixed to the column body 1 side by fixing a mounting bracket 50 to a column side bracket 4 using a fixing means 53 inserted from the opening 35 in such a state that the lower cover 19 is held. Even when the gap between the lap part of the passenger 14 and the rear surface 16R of the instrument panel 16 differs between right and left of the steering column 18, it is possible to reduce influence on the side of which the gap is smaller by deploying the knee airbag 24 with offset to the larger gap side. SOLUTION: This rear window airbag device has a first inflating part 41 inflating and deploying an airbag body 20 constituted so as to inflate and deploy along rear window glass 36 from a rear roof header 16 of a vehicle 12 in a cabin 50, in response to the headrest 54 of the rearmost part seat 52, and a second inflating part 42 inflating and deploying in response to an area unprovided with the headrest 54. A boundary part between the first inflating part 41 and the second inflating part 42 is divided by a slit 56 extending in the vertical direction of the vehicle along both end parts 54A in the car width direction of the headrest 54. Thus, the first inflating part 41 corresponding to the headrest 54 can be deployed in response to the height of the headrest 54 independently of the second inflating part 42. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for protecting a knee capable of restraining the knee of an occupant early. SOLUTION: In the airbag device 10 for protecting the knee, at the time of a front surface collision of a vehicle, an airbag 40 is expanded/deployed to a vehicle rear side of a door 24A of a glove-box 24, so that the airbag 40 restrains the knee 18A of the occupant 18 to protect that. The airbag 40 is stored inside of the door 24A, so that the air bag 40 can cover the door 24A disposed at a height position of the knee 18A of the occupant 18 early, and restrain the knee 18A of the occupant 18 to protect that. In order to make the airbag 40 control the movement to a vehicle front side of the occupant 18, it is enough that the airbag 40 restrains only the knee 18A of the occupant 18.
