Abstract: The purpose of the invention is to limit increases in amount of heat generated while securing both processing speed and processing precision. In the present invention, the device is provided with: a series circuit comprising a direct current power supply (1) for supplying direct current or alternating current electric current pulses to the processing gap between a processing electrode (2) and the workpiece (3), switching elements (4a, 4b) and a diode (7a); diodes (7b, 7c) that regulate the direction of current flow to one direction; and a control unit (10) that controls the switching elements (4a, 4b). When generating electric current pulses that have a triangular waveform as a result of an inductance (6) present in the series circuit, the control unit (10) controls the on time and off time of the switching elements (4a, 4b) so that the peak value of a selected electric current pulse in the pulse string obtained from the multiple electric current pulses changes.
