Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a carbon nanotube thin film with reduced orientation being in a random state, and effectively applicable to an electrode, a sensor, or the like. SOLUTION: This carbon nanotube thin film is formed by the steps of dispersing carbon nanotubes in an aprotic solvent added with a basic polymer type dispersant, applying an alternate electric field in the dispersion liquid using a material to be coated as anode, and forming a carbon nanotube thin film on the surface of the anodic material. As the carbon nanotube thin film formed by this method has a reduced planar orientation state along the surface of the material to be coated being in an unoriented random state, conduction of electricity and heat is facilitated effectively.
