Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the test result is significantly different from the actual use conditions of the fixing roller since a fixing roller is heated without applying a mechanical stress to the fixing roller, so that the evaluation result by the test is not high in reliability, and to accurately evaluate the fixing roller in a short period of time. SOLUTION: In a method of evaluating the fixing roller, which is configured in the fixing device of an image forming apparatus, the fixing roller to be evaluated is composed of: a metal core; an elastic layer which is formed on the circumference of the metal core and made of an elastic material; and a resin layer which is formed on the circumference of the elastic layer and made of fluorinated resin, wherein part of the fixing roller is cut out including the elastic layer and the resin layer, as a sample, the cut-out sample is placed on the heating surface of a hot plate, and a load is acted on the sample. Further, the heating surface is set to a predetermined temperature X(°C), so that the sample is heated in such a state that the load acts on the sample. After this heating, it is confirmed whether or not the resin layer is peeled from the elastic layer, in the sample. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device equipped with a pair comprising a heating roller and a pressure roller for holding recording paper between them and heating it, while conveying it, a circumferential surface contact member that contacts the circumferential surface of the heating roller, a circumferential surface heating heater for heating the circumferential surface contact member by energization, a contact member temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the circumferential surface contact member, and a temperature control part for controlling the maximum temperature of the circumferential surface contact member, according to the number of recording paper conveyed per unit time. SOLUTION: In an image forming device having a plurality of printing speeds, supply of heat to external heating parts is controlled appropriately, suppressing deterioration of the external heating part, when printing is performed at a low speed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus in which a charging roller charges an image carrier to which a lubricant is applied, and which prevents slip of the charging roller. SOLUTION: The charging roller 2 is composed by forming a rubber layer 22 mainly made of an epichlorohydrin rubber around a metal core 21. A surface of this rubber layer 22 is hardened with a surface treating solution containing an isocyanate compound. The surface of the rubber layer 22 is also subjected to three abrading processes including two, stone grinding processes and one lapping process so that a ten-point height of irregularities Rz thereof becomes 11μm or more. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image misregistration in a fixing device having a plurality of fixing nip parts formed therein. SOLUTION: A toner image on a recording paper passing a first nip part disposed nearest to the paper entrance side, out of the first nip part formed by pressing a belt 44 to a fixing roller 41 with a pressure roller 42, a second nip part formed by pressing the belt 44 to the fixing roller 41 with a peeling roller 43, and a virtual nip part which is brought into contact with the fixing roller between the first and second nip parts but doesn't have a pressing force given thereto, is heated up to a state free from low-temperature offset. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of restraining an image defect due to soiling by toner caused by the blowoff of the toner or the like at the warm-up time, and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus using the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is equipped with a fixing roller 231 abutting on the toner image forming surface of recording paper P and including heater lamps 234 and 235, a pressure roller 232 abutting on the surface opposite to the toner image forming surface of the recording paper P, and an external heating roller 233 abutting on the pressure roller 232 and including a heater lamp 236. In the device, the rotation of the fixing roller 231 and the pressure roller 232 is started after the temperature of the fixing roller 231 attains prescribed target temperature exceeding temperature lower than control temperature at the time of fixing operation by 50°C, for example, temperature equal to the control temperature at the time of fixing operation at the warm-up time. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating arrangement capable of speedily reducing unevenness of temperatures on the surface of a heating member when moving from a standby state to an operating state, an image forming device equipped with the heating arrangement, and a heating method of the heating arrangement. SOLUTION: This heating arrangement 12 is provided with a heating roller 31, an induction heating means 37, and a pressurizing member 32 heated by a heating member 33. The induction heating means 37 and the pressurizing member 32 form three heating regions on the surface of the heating roller 31 by partially heating the peripheral surface of the heating roller. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient fixing strength and to achieve speeding up in warming up and reduction in power consumption, even when attached quantity of toner is reduced. SOLUTION: A color toner image T is carried to a heating region X of an intermediate transfer belt 21 by a heating roll 22 along with the rotational movement of the intermediate transfer belt 21, melted by heat in the heating region X of the intermediate transfer belt 21, maintained at 125°C and furthermore, carried to a transfer fixing nip region N between a press roll 23 and a heat roll 22. In addition, recording paper P is fed between the intermediate transfer belt 21 and the press roll 23 at the carrying timing of the heat-melted toner image T. Thus, the heat-melted toner image T is transferred and fixed on the recording paper P. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
