PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power saving while suppressing an influence on operability of a user.SOLUTION: An electronic book terminal 10 includes a first processing means group which participates in a user interface; a second processing means group which does not participate in the user interface; and a terminal control part 11. The terminal control part 11 performs at least one of limitation of electric power supply to the first processing means group and stoppage of a clock signal, and places the local terminal in a power-saving state by stopping electric power supply to the second processing means group while keeping on displaying a content on a display 16 capable of displaying the content when determining that a power-saving transition condition as a condition of putting the local terminal in a power-saving state is met. Further, the terminal control part 11 cancels the limitation of the power supply to the first processing means group and the stoppage of the clock signal before cancelling the stoppage of power supply to the second processing means group when an operation detection part 12 capable of detecting user operation detects the user operation in the power-saving state.

SOLUTION: A recess 210 is formed on the operation panel 200 of an image forming apparatus 100 as the electronic device. The image forming apparatus 100 includes a movable display device 220. The movable display device 220 contains the removable medium and includes a movable cover 222 which opens and closes to switch between a closing state of covering slots d-h of the removable medium and slots d-h and an opening state of opening the slots d-h. The movable display device 220 operates to switch between an containing state of being engaged with the recess 210 in the closing state to prevent opening and closing operations by the movable cover 222 and non-containing state of projecting from the recess 210 to permit opening and closing operations by the movable cover 222. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1 includes a first case 2 and a second case 4. The second case 4 incorporates a five-axis sensor 5 for measuring the azimuth of the second case 4. When a telephone call or mail arrives, the portable telephone set 1 is capable of outputting different ring tones corresponding to the azimuth of the second case 4 or turning on an LED 36 in different patterns. In such a case, an X-axis, a Y-axis and a Z-axis are defined to the second case 4 in the portable telephone set 1, and the azimuth of the second case 4 is determined based on a rotating angle of any one of the X-axis, the Y-axis and the Z-axis in accordance with the inclination of a principal surface of the second case 4.
