Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide simple constitution by selectively controllably driving an intake air amount adjusting means and exhaust recirculation amount adjusting means according to the result of judging a predetermined running condition and supplying current to the selected adjusting means through a single drive section. CONSTITUTION:A controller for an internal combustion engine M1 determines a condition of current supply to an intake air amount adjusting means M3 and exhaust recirculation amount adjusting means M4 by a controlling means M5 according to the running condition of internal combustion engine M1 detected by a running condition detecting means M2. Then, a judging means M6 is provided for judging at least an idling condition and according to the result of judgement when the idling condition is judged by a change-over means M7 a command is generated to operate said means M3 and when non-idling condition is judged said means M4 is commanded to operate. Also, said means M5 is provided with a drive unit M8 for making only current supply effective to the adjusting means corresponding to the command generated by the change- over means M7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize an quantity of fuel injected irrespective of a fluctuation in a suction negative pressure, by a method wherein the pressure regulator of a fuel injection valve is controlled by a suction pressure fetched from an auxiliary suction passage on the downstream of a suction control valve. CONSTITUTION:A pressure regulator 43 has a valve body 51 partitioned into a pressure chamber 54 and a fuel chamber 55 by a diaphragm 52, and the valve body 51 opens and closes an opening 56, connected to a return tube of fuel, through movement of the diaphragm 52 to control an quantity of fuel returned. The pressure of an auxiliary suction passage 3 on the downstream of a suction control valve 7 is always exerted on a pressure chamber 54 of a pressure regula tor 43 through a pressure fetching pipe 42 and a communicating pipe 41. The pressure is exerted on the valve body 51 through the diaphragm 52, and this enables a difference between a fuel pressure in a delivery pipe 31 and a pressure in an auxiliary suction passage 3, through which fuel is injected, to be always maintained at a specified value.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent a change of torque, increase of a harmful component quantity in exhaust gas and worsening of a fuel consumption rate when an intake control valve is opened, by an intake control valve opening and closing the second intake port, subfuel injection valve provided in the upstream of a collection part, etc.
CONSTITUTION: In a range of low and intermediate speed and load, an engine, closing an intake control valve 7 by a signal from a control circuit 25, generates in a combustion chamber a strong swirl S from the first intake valve 4. A main injector 32 supplies most of the required fuel, while a subinjector 33 supplies a part of the fuel or stops its supply. While the engine, for obtaining high torque and a high output in the range of high speed and high load, opens the intake control valve 7 by a signal from the control circuit 25 so as to enable air to be sucked also from the second intake port 3, further the whole part of the required fuel is supplied from the subinjector 33.
